How is he winging it? Every game Luchenko has sat so far has been part of a back to back.
He probably sits one of next weeks games too. They dont play for over a week though so maybe they let him play. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
Carlson was a well thought out plan with a training regimen for off game days to ease him into an entire season. Torts is sitting an 18 year old in back to back who could be gone next week. They are not the same |

I am not surprised to see ND slot in. The "energy" has been down for a few games. Specifically the home opener. ND will no doubt energize the boys onto a raucous victory tonight. |

I'm expecting Brink to come out when Foerster goes back in. I believe Luchanko will be back in Guelph before Halloween. Hopefully, he gets traded in the OHL to get a long playoff run in the spring.

Yeah 4 points in 5 games is the worst. Luchanko should go back.

Jamie Drysdale has been outscored 27-5 at 5on5 so far as a Flyer. Hopefully now his skating looks better, the GA will come down and the GF will go up.
https://www.naturalstattr...ines=single&draftteam=ALL - Feanor
His defensive game is still a work in progress, he also hasnt really had any quality partners as well. Playing with EJ, Risto or Zamula is not going to take any pressure of Drysdale.
At the end of the day we have to just let it play out and live with the mistakes. The cream always rises to the top. If he is as good as projected, he will figure it out.

Im not that stunned. I guess it could be a bit surprising given that Foerster was in Torts good books but Torts is fickle. He loves you until you dont play well(Up to his standards). Like many on the team he hasnt really been all that good. I dont mind sitting a guy to give him a kick in the butt but I dont want to see guys being sat like Frost was last season.

Im a little surprised EJ is out and Zamula stayed in. Really thought he would be a guy who could be sat.

Is that it, his defensive game is a work in progress? What about his offensive game? His puck movement and puck transition. That is still very much a work in progress and is supposed to be his strength as a player. In many instances, Erik Johnson has equal or better offensive numbers than Drysdale does. I agree that we have to let it play out. What choice is there but so far, Drysdale has been a mess and less than impressive other than some fancy skating that doesn't add up to much of anything.

Might as well scratch Frost and and Tippett at this point then call up Eklind and Gardner.
They could be the Philadelphia GrindRs

Brink does not play the Torts way, his early scoring has bought him a little time. I do not believe Brink can ever get to the Hathaway level circle of trust. |

What I see for tonight:
Ersson starts, but doesn't finish.
Flyers are physically manhandled, at least 3 fights.
One of the Capitals defensemen are going to have a stellar game (my guess is Chychrun)
Torts starts changing lines after the first shift of the game. |

Watching Michkov in preseason, he clearly has tons of skills and IQ the Flyers have been lacking for awhile. He also looked great because teammates were finishing during the slower paced preseason.
Now the regular starts, a much faster pace, and Michkov is still showing those signs of skill and high IQ, but the teammates are unable to handle the fast and more aggressive style of other teams.
My initial guess of Michkov getting around 35-40 points...I'm going back to it. Hopefully he finishes top 3 in the Calder race, but my expectations are low how this team is told to play. |
