Why in the world would the Rangers do that? They, on paper, should make a deep playoff run and attempting to do that by adding Marner and having to play Quick as their starter every night would probably make them worse

I'm suggesting that, if the Rangers think that Shesterkin will not sign and walk at the end of the season then they look to trade him for someone who may sign at that dollar value. Be it Marner or somebody else. Of course, there are a lot of "what ifs" to a deal like this.

Lol I wouldn’t think Army would overpay to sign a player like Marner ! He’s a good forward but he’s never led his team past the 2nd rd in playoffs. I’d take Thomas over Marner any day of the week. Especially at 8.3 compared to however much Ferris extracts from whoever signs him ( probably Shannahan) . Realistically should Marner ever have been an $11million player ? My answer would be OH HELL NO ……
