Putting aside the part where Mika is center and kreider is a winger. Kreider is not the type of player to drive possession and make his linemates better. He might be the best role player of all time. He does what he does ay the highest level. Mika, on the other hand, has always needed the puck on his stick to be effective. Dancing through defenses, ripping shots, setting up teammates. He’s not doing much of any of that right now and is forcing his role player linemates to pick up his slack
- picklerick

Confidence begets confidence. He is overthinking on the ice. Despite his struggles, team is 6-1-1 and the third line has taken a massive step forward. When one area might struggle, another section needs to step up. That’s what is happening. Defense needs to be tighter, especially in transition and on trailers

I will when I see one.

Scroll up my good friend. Idk how many ways I can say that we’re a legit cup contender. Mika sucks right now, I’m sure he’d agree. I couldn’t be more excited about literally every other part of our team. Good news is he can’t get much worse so it’s really our floor.

The point is Krieder produces less than zib but nobody complains here about him (not twitter)

You can realistically compare them because they have the exact same minutes played

- Greschnergy#4

Kreider produces to his contract. If he was making close to 9 million a year he would be open to more criticism. If your gonna demand the full no move contract high AAV contract Zib did you open yourself to be compared to other top line centers. He usually falls short in those matchups the last 2 years.

He has a chance to turn it around but I need to see it before I can believe it at this point

I’m just realistic - he didnnt become sh.t overnight. I dont get involved with the money they are paid. The truth of the matter is zib out produces CK. You can find spins for it like CK as a role-play or He’s not center, but facts are facts.

lol he better out produce Kreider. He is paid to
Do it. That’s my whole point. There is a reason Kreider only makes 6.5 per year and Panarin makes 11.6. One is a line driver and a top player. The other is a solid second line winger who can score you 30 goals per year and some clutch ones in the playoffs. Some fans think Kreider is a top line player he isn’t. I have accepted that years ago why I am fine with what he produces

Cuylle learning how to go offsides from kreider

Honestly the solution might just be to keep giving them more minutes and Mika’s line less. Unless and until things change

Chytil gains the blue line easier than anyone on the team - even bread. His speed is such a difference maker

After his first season here I was so over him. Bad penalties and no chemistry with anyone. Then bang. Turned into one of our best contracts

As long as the nhl is a salary cap league it will always be about the money

Why Drury tried so hard to move Trouba all offseason

Yea when they signed him i was meh on it. But he is a true heart and soul player. Him becoming a 70 point player doesn’t hurt either lol

Are Trouba and Zib overpaid? Maybe. Doesn’t mean that they are sh.t it means more that Drury did a bad job in money management

Can’t it just be that Mika is currently and has been for a while not playing up to par? Trouba was exceptionally bad after he came back from injury last season. You can look at it from a cap hit perspective or what their role is supposed to be or whatever you want.

It’s insane to me because my singular complaint is Mika. Everything else is great. And I’ve said as much many times
