Perfect. This kind of meltdown should get a coach fired. 3 mindless plays in succession.

12 shots through 2 periods.

Didn’t they have like 5 through 2 vs Edmonton? They’ve been embarrassing.

I've seen enough, I'm going to bed. My only hope for the third is that maybe Sid can get going a bit. He's just not been himself at all this season.

42 GA in 9.5 gms. Bottom of the league. Too old, slow, and soft to compete night-in/ night-out.

Holy $hit. Saw us go up 2-0, went to pack for a flight tomorrow, and now we are down 4-2, including 3 in a minute.

Everytime you think this is the bottom, they surprise you with something else.

I came into this season not caring about our team results because i knew we werent good enough. I truly hope the individual achievements some of our older guys have going work out, but otherwise I hope we lose and are a high lottery team. That is the only way to prevent the natural organizational decline we are in right now. Firing Sully does nothing.

Right. Jarry might not be great, but he's looking more like the whipping boy than the problem.

So this group has hung-out 3 goalies in only 10 gms. Jarry has been bad, BUT…. Trend forming. Optimistically, maybe they’re trying to get Sully canned by Thanksgiving. Are they really this bad or have they given up on their coach?

Good question, because this is what it looks like when a team quits on it's coach. Jarry's looking like the fall guy. Playing behind this team will give any goalie the doubts.

The discourse about this core was that they didnt want Sully to go and they didnt want to play for a new coach. So either that wasnt true and they are running him out of town, or they are way too comfortable because they know he isnt going anywhere.

I think simply put its a poorly constructed roster that has a core still thinking they can run and outgun everyone. A team of this age and lacking the physicality, speed, or talent top to bottom needs to be a defensive and smart team. We are neither. and we are neither because no one wants us to be.

That arrogance extends to the coach too. He thinks they can still skate with anyone. Then they come against a team like Edmonton and it's comical.

At this point, it's challenging to find something that isn't part of the problem.

Dubas has been an absolute joke, but sully is 3 years past his expiration date.

Any serious gm would have focused on getting a 1LW before signing 7 tweeners. How did jarry and graves get 5 years but you couldn’t go 5 years for any of the legit top 6 wingers this offseason?

Us: we’re going to be bad but we want to see the stars retire here

You: I’m the only smart person here for telling all of you we will be bad

It's crazy they can be this bad but only two points out of a playoff spot...

Yes, I know, they've played more games than some other teams. However, it's only October and things could tighten up and change. They did last season. Not saying that's going to happen just saying it's possible haha

I think Sullivan is a one system coach. Now that his system isn't working he has nothing.

With previous discussions of the big 3 and Sullivan being mad at Dubas for not trying to be more aggressive in building a playoff team this offseason. One would think they would try to prove Dubas wrong. Unfortunately that was not the case. Fire Sullivan! What is the worse that happens they play worse? We are already trending towards a top 5 pick.

It's tough because if we had a good GM. Say we do bomb this season and get a top 3-5 pick.

A good GM probably uses our youth to fill in the bottom six next season and save some cap space. Then takes our cap space (assuming we also ship off some contracts this TDL) and is aggressive this offseason and signs and trades for some higher end talent. Such as Marner, Chychrun, Ekblad, Ehlers. Maybe go aggressive and sign Marner and Ehlers to prop up the 1st line next year. Put Rust and Rakell on the 2nd. Maybe take a shot at Nelson or Bennett at 2nd center and put Malkin on top line LW with Crosby and Marner. Then redo the Defense by getting rid of Karlsson. Signing Ekblad as your new top D.

Whats crazy is the Rangers were waiting to see if the Pens were going to fire Sullivan and they hired Laviolette only after they realized Sully wasnt getting fired.
