So most of those players dont matter. Konecny and Tippett are the only 2 long term deals and the Flyers dont exactly have prospects knocking on the door right now. Guys like Poehling, Hathaway, Laughton and Cates can be moved. Seeler is the only one I view as a mistake as we are commited for 2 years due to the NTC
We have a ton of young players on the team and we are still evaluating to see what these players. Farabee, Brink, Frost, Foerster, and Drysdale are key young players that we still dont know what they are and if they are part of our future. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
The guys you mentioned should be moved were not moved when their value would probably be highest. I would venture to guess if they are moved in the future, good chance their trade value will not be higher. Was it really necessary to lock in 2 top 6 wingers as opposed to getting draft comprnsation in return? I question extending both TK and Tippett, one extension no issue. The team is lacking talent, so re signing both good wingers to long term extensions was a mistake, IMO.

Bobby brink isn’t a key anything. He’s nothing. Frost and Farabee are what they are, they aren’t getting any younger. Jury is out on Drysdale but early returns arent by great - ClaudeFather
You dont know that. Brink is is 22 years old. There is still a lot of growth for him, same with Drysdale. Farabee is 24, still has room to grow. Brayden Schenn is an example, he did not peak at 24 years old. He had a 59 point season which is 4 points higher than what he had last season. Schenn still grew and had more success
Frost is likely what we see this season. At 25 his window is closing. Next season is the point where he is what he is.

I am sure the coach will get their best offense and game out of them.
You need to come to the realization these players you talk about are nothing to get excited about. They are just ok players. Nothing more. Unlikely to become anything more. |

I am so ready for the Frost divorce. I like Morgan as a player, but this situation is just exhausting. I don't see a way he can better staying. He needs to leave for a chance to maximize his career. |

IMO this is Frosts last season with the Flyers. He will be traded at the deadline or his rights traded in the off-season. I doubt either side is going to want to continue the relationship as long as Torts is the coach.

They can be good players. OK players are guys like Laughton. Guys who are going to be 3rd line player. Brink is already a top 6 player offensively IMO. His defense is not great. Whether he can figure out that part of his game remains to be seen.
Frost I am worried about because he hasnt been effective at all without Michkov. He was supposed to be a 2nd line C and he doesnt exactly look like one. You have to wonder if he is going to still be with the team by the end of the season

I agree but I dont think Torts matters.
This could be Torts last season as coach. Even if he comes back its likely 1 year. If Frost likes it here and Briere wants to keep him and the only obstacle is Torts, I think he would sign a 1 year deal to see what happens. If Torts gets extended he can just Nope out. If he decides to retire then Frost gets what he wants. A new coach.
That being said I think Briere moves him

Before this season started, you were criticizing Brink for being outscored by Poehling. Brink's defense on the whole as a Flyer, has not been an issue.

I'm as big of a Frost supporter as there is but he simply has to elevate his game. Other than on the PP, it's just not there this season. On either side of the puck.

I remember the look on Briere's face after SJ chose Richardinson. Looked like someone shot his dog. Now Luchanko could end up being excellent pick. The pitfall of the Briere strategy not stripping the roster down is the possibility of missing out on prospects the GM covets. As mentioned many times before, NHL GMs do not trade out of the top 5. It is a fallacy. I guess Briere was somewhat strategic leaving the goaltending so uncertain that the team really is on its way to fall into the top 5. |
