I want this team to win but like I said 2 years ago I'd take last place if it got us bedard or in this case hagens. Bad contracts and not enough talent are killing this team. Sorokin is back in form and they can't score for him lol. They are in hockey limbo, not good enough to win or bad enough to get a top 5 pick

I’m sure they’ll bounce back and be an at best bubble team again before you know it. If they could just make the playoffs you never know. 😆

analytics are going to come back to earth with the whole pulling the goalie with 848277485828838385 seconds remaining. it's stupid and it never works.

honestly wrestling is more satisfying because with Vince gone you rarely get kicked in the nuts multiple times a week like you do watching the Mets, Jets, Giants, Islanders, and Yankees

GM chief and sorry about the Yankees. That 5th inning was one for the books. Sadly, I can relate.

I have some nephews that do not like sports. They must be onto something. Why was I cursed to like sports?

I'm not the world's most diehard baseball fan so this isn't quite the level of despair that I'd have if the Islanders lost in the Cup final, but just the sheer level of idiocy that led to them blowing a 5 run lead is astounding.

it was legit in 90s and early 2000s.

gambling is destroying everything. in most sports now they have hour long reviews of every amazing play so you can only get excited about it if you're a degenerate gambling fagg0t

Even Eklund's vulgarity filters are incorrect

I find it funny many will blame Boone. He might not be the greatest manager and all managers make questionable moves. You cannot blame the manager for last night. Cashman is more at fault with how this roster was constructed.

They both share a ton of blame, as do the players. Plenty of blame to be spread around. Hal will earn a lot too if he fails to re-sign Soto.

Boone had his share of terrible decisions, like putting Nestor in to pitch to Freeman in game 1 when he hadn't pitched in months and Freeman absolutely crushes lefties. Game 1 and last night both saw the Yankees have win probabilities of around 90% or more when they were leading and they lost both. This series should see the Yankees up 3-2 heading back to LA for game 6. Cashman ignored the bullpen and pitching at the deadline. Just a total letdown from top to bottom.

This is fair. I still give most of the blame to Cahsman and the players. Cashman also do not provide a strong bench. I think Rizzo, Torres, Homes, and Verdugo need to go. I'm not sure Rodon is the best fit for NY?

I think Verdugo is absolutely gone. Probably Torres too. He can be so good and then so bad. Rizzo is probably toast as a hitter, but I assume he will be back with only one year left on his deal. Holmes falling apart was unexpected, not sure what happens with him.

I thought Rizzo's deal was up? Yankees need more speed and more contact hitting and defense needs to be better. For such a high payroll, the roster is very flawed.

SportTrac says he's a free agent in 2026. I could be wrong, I don't know a god damn thing about baseball cap/payrolls/etc...

Mets and Yankees not the best clutch hitters. Dodgers made all the plays and came through in the clutch.

I was rooting for the Mets too. I have a good friend that has a majorly high-level front office/baseball ops job with them. Would have loved to see him get a ring.

So now I have to root for both NY teams

Absolutely right. It's an old baseball adage that pitching and defense wins these best of 7 series. The Yankees demonstrated in that 5th inning that they had neither. You don't walk batters when you have a 5-run lead. Then Judge must have had a brain fart when he took his eye off the ball to check on the baserunner. Then a throwing error by the shortstop. And what was the pitcher thinking when he decided not to cover first???? Today's baseball players are overpaid and lazy.

The Yankees can certainly replace Boone. That will not fix all the problems. That 5th inning cannot happen regardless of the manager. Same with replacing Lane did not fix all the Islander problems.
