Will the ND experiment end? It is clear he shouldn’t be playing.
Do you Fedotov being sent to the AHL for at least a conditioning stint to get in some games. What do you think the thought process is for the goalies.
Phantoms question. Do you know if Rizzo is hurt? If not seems odd he isn’t playing after his very strong college career. - furio16
I'd send Feds down at minimum for a conditioning stint. If we send him down for longer, I believe he'd have to clear waivers, but I see zero danger in him being claimed with his performance and that cap hit. From what i've seen, he needs a lot of work on his game and would probably benefit from an entire year or more in the A. |

He looked scared to death to drop them. - furio16
He still was willing to though with one of the toughest dudes in the league. He did not want to for sure.
I was stunned that the refs got that sequence right.

It's fine if the plan is for him to sit most of the year as the 7th dman with a spot start here and there. I'd prefer to have Zamula and Andrae play a lot so that they can develop. - Hextall271
This is what we were told was going to happen - some of us pushed back on that narrative and it seems that we were correct - ej will see more games on the ice than in the press box cause torts gonna torts |

I’ve been a Drysdale fan for a while and was excited when he became a Flyer. Unfortunately, he’s not rising to the occasion. Watching Lane Hutson last night, reminds me of what Jamie D is supposed to be. He has not been anywhere near that thus far. After 1/10th of the season and JD being healthy, there appears to be cause for concern that he’s not what he was projected to be, I’m sad to say. |

Yes. Couturier is a grown man. No need to be scared. You can tie him up as I bet Couturier is strong. Also how did Seeler not get a penalty? - furio16
He dropped his gloves…that’s more then 90% of the league would do. |

Same with ND playing more than Brink. ND is not an NHL level player at this point. Brink was a struggling young player when he was in the lineup.
The Flyers are playing a good amount of kids right now. But they are still stuck in between trying to win and doing the right thing. Just blow it up already.

I'm very concerned about his play TBH. Doesn't mean I don't want them to be patient and give him time to find his game but he seems to have regressed. |

He was a liability from day 1, it's just gotten worse to the point where everyone is being forced to admit it.
This is the old time hockey mind set personified. Actual hockey players who can stand up for themselves are one thing (Tom Wilson, Wayne Simmonds) but players who only role is to have a staged fight to entertain the fans or to "create space for skilled players" is neanderthal thinking. - Flyers_01
I would argue this year it’s been more noticeable…but that’s just arguing semantics at this point. Those guys are far and few between, but you still have to be able to keep up with the play and be sound in your own end. He has not done either. They simply can’t afford to put him on the ice. It’s like Fedotov in some ways….you can’t afford to put him on the ice. |

Brink should absolutely be in the lineup. How's he supposed to find his game if he's not planning and even worse because ND is dressed?? |

I thought Brink was one of the best guys in preseason when he was getting opportunities. They seem to have dried up in the regular season. |

To add to the lunacy of ND, he's supposed to fight or be on the bench to discourage the other team from taking shots at our more skilled players and fight so they don't have to, and last night we have Coots fighting wifi password. What's the point? |

Yes. But let him work his way through it by letting him play and putting him with consistent linemates. |

I thought they should have called it even up. Give Coots a minor for even delay of game in dropping his gloves…lol. Xhekaj is a marked guy….interesting he seems to be falling out of favour in MTL…word was was two summers ago DB was interested in trading for him. |

Taking away playing time and pushing players down the lineup is one way to handle players. I think with younger players you should actually coach them. Meaning tell them what they are doing wrong. I am sure that happens some of the time but I do not think it happens regularly. I am pretty confident it never happens in game.
Not saying every young player shouldn't have to work. But they are young and learning. Guide them a little. Give them some leeway.
Young players need reps. Sitting them for multiple games at a time when you have a team full of struggling players makes zero sense to me.

I was shocked ND actually didn’t have much of a push back on that….then again Wifi could have gone all WWE on Cout’s and did not. |

I thought they got it right. Xhekaj instigated with Coots. Seeler came in to stop the madness. They could have given Xhekaj an instigator and all that goes with that. They could have given Seeler third man and all that goes with that. Good on the ref for not throwing out two players for doing very little.
It was a clean play by Coots. No reason for Xhekaj to get after Coots at all.

Agreed. And for young players, it would be hard to handle being scratched routinely. Not only because of lack of reps, but because of confidence and the feeling that you can't make any mistakes or you're out. |

Not shocked at all. ND is completely useless other than staged fights.

Then you see a handful of other players playing as bad or worse than you that do not get benched. Has to be at least a little confusing.

More so cause, why should he? Why do you have to take yourself off the ice for 5 minutes after a clean hit? It's dumb and not the way it used to be. If your team starts hitting then the other team would start hitting. It was never this nonsense where you have to fight immediately after a hit as usually if you are on the ice you have no idea if a hit was even clean or not. Just dumb. Coots is finally playing well again and now he is gonna break his hand on a moron like that. No thanks and good for Seeler to step in. That's not a penalty as I think it needs to be a full on altercation to be 3rd man in. If you step in to kinda break the fight up, they wont call 3rd man in as they should not.

I saw why MTL was upset….then again Cout’s could have gotten more of Dach on that play…if he had he’d be facing a 1 or 2 game suspension….he kind of let up. That’s the new NHL…even good clean hits or borderline hits end up with a guy chasing down the culprit. The ‘NEW’ code I guess. |

Not sure what Lane Hutson has to do with anything..
