It's just fun to me because out here in the country-ish not much changes.
Well except for the interest rates and inflation. That's really the first time I felt the backlash of having an idiot in power. - Fredo
yeah, I get what you're saying, there's just been so much build-up leading to these 'Murican elections and so much tension I just want it to be over with, even if technically as a Quebecer/Canadian it doesn't necessarily affect me directly in my day-to-day life.

That is a lyric from a Travis song (Writing to Reach You), kinda mocking Oasis.
Very obscure reference.

Yeah, they are Brit pop type band... I enjoy most of their stuff from time to time - my Last FM profile says I have listened to 2122 tracks of theirs since 2005.
Not even in my top 60 artists.

Nice.
Never really got into Pulp or Blur. And only listened to Oasis cause I was dating a girl who played their stuff all the time. They all seemed like pretentious gits (at least, at the time) to me.
LOL
Currently listening to the new release by the Cure - Songs of a Lost World.

i read that it's good. 16 years since their last CD i think it said? that's nuts.
i was more into pulp and blur when i was young because they overplayed oasis on the radio and mtv but years later i had to admit they wrote great, catchy songs and next thing i knew i had a bunch of their CDs. |

Yeah, so far I am enjoying the new Cure album... the opening song is mostly instrumental for a large potion of, which took me back a little. Others are heavily instrumental, too (have not finished listening to the whole thing yet).
More subdued and less poppy than some of their mid-late 80s / early 90s releases.
Heavy guitars, too, lots of reverb.
Noisy without being fast.
