he should get close to it for sure. I thought the caps' main purpose this season would be to simply help Ovi score some goals but they're playing surprisingly well, looking like a playoff team so far.

I think we will learn after the season is over that Ovie told the Caps (management + his teammates) that this will be his last season.
he wants to break the record, make the playoffs, and will retire next summer.

I'd see him retire if he does break the record but I doubt he's already planned this season to be his last one and told his team about it since he'll probably continue playing next year if he doesn't... but yeah he's 35 goals away from tying the record and is currently on pace to do it, so unless he gets injured his chances are pretty good to break it this year.

random question, is anyone here somewhat knowledgeable in kitchen/chef knives? I'm looking to buy a set and I'm trying to figure out what would be a good quality knife that isn't overly expensive.

google might be your best bet, pat.

good knives are generally expensive so maybe you can find some from people in the know that aren't too costly.

unless you're a chef and work with it daily, I doubt it is worth spending that kind of money. these can be quite expensive indeed.
best advice, go to the store and try them. that is not negociable.
I'm sure you'll find a very good one under 200$.

well I've already started browsing around and found some interesting options, but I figured I might as well ask in case I'm be missing out on a better deal.

the price ranges vary a lot but I'm looking for something around 300$, which I think should be fine since I'm not a professional chef or anything and I just need a good knife for casual cooking. also I don't need a 20 piece set or whatever, so I figure if I'm spending the same money but for a smaller set of like 5 knives they should logically be higher quality.

I hadn't even mentioned what my budget was...

but yeah I'm not spending a thousand dollars on a knife set that's for sure.

I agree though that it would be best to check them out at the store and see how they feel.

like I said that is not negociable. a knife could be perfect for me but not for you. and vice versa. no way to know unless you try them.
me nephew is a chef and have a 1000$+ knife. a single knife, not a knife set. but he's a chef.
to make myself a BLT sandwich... maybe not

noice. they tend to be a bit pricey but I spotted a 7-piece set that isn't too expensive and looks decent.
