Trump kinda speaks their social media language - the poop they read on line every day. So most of his behaviour seems normalized (or even funny) to them. Pure absence of any policy is not an issue, and they really do not remember or were aware of what happened last time.

While it IS politically motivated, they are/were still legitimate charges.

Now of course his immunity as the president, from what I understand, should make the whole things drop faster than the Habs in the standings so it will be all moot down the line.
