I'm guessing they paid around 2 grand for a half an inning of Baseball. Probably banned from Yankee Stadium and have a couple of court dates to attend. So they're gonna need to Lawyer up as well.

Hope it was worth it.

New lines incoming?

Meanwhile, Tocchet tinkered with his practice lineup Tuesday, moving Arshdeep Bains up with Elias Pettersson and Garland and dropping Nils Hoglander down with Pius Suter and Daniel Sprong. He also had Noah Juulsen pairing with Erik Brannstrom

surprising pairing. I like Juulsen for the hits he deals out, but he's an adventure out there. Not sure I would trust him with major minutes.

Ya not sure how I feel about that choice.. maybe it was just an experiment, or small injury thing. Or Tocc wants to shakes things up a bit and have another emotion setter in the lineup. But I guess we'll find out tonight!

RT actually talked about putting Juulson in with Brannstrom before the last game. Guess he didn’t pull the trigger then not having had a practice day with it. Vinny D had another questionable game. Forbort not back up to speed and all is understandable for what he’s gone through.

Today on Pillow Talk With QQ, we discuss pulling the trigger on line up changes and defense pairings.

Perhaps the wingers aren't the problem, maybe it's the centre.

My take is it’s much bigger than one player, it is buying in to and then executing Tocchet’s style.

Agreed. Last game it was everyone but 1 or 2 players. Lots of bad habits on display and the power play is dreadful.
I'm interested to see how they come out of the gates tonight.

True on both counts and swapping out 5 forwards and 2 dmen there will be an adaption period to what Tocchet wants to happen out there. They adjusted last year with new players on the roster they can do it again this year.

Yup terrible team effort, and I hate to say this but I think another loss is coming tonight. New Jersey plays the Canucks hard, maybe it’s a younger Hughes brothers rivalry thing.

Plus Markstrom will be pumped for this game. They battled CAR to a single point after a very bad 60 mins of Hockey I'm betting Tocchet has them ready tonight. Probably OT again IMO.

Actually would be nice if NFU and Nighty would put their collective heads together and work on a roster for tonight's tilt.

Maybe they could email it to RT in time for the game. lol

Let’s hope so, Tocchet was pissed at his entire group, his comments about instructing his team for 2 days on how Carolina plays and not to dive in and they didn’t listen.

I liked that he sat Pettersson and Hogs, do it again if needed.

Iain MacIntyre's latest article had some hints in it to why Pouty isn't playing up to standards. I might be way off, but those hints seem to suggest he's not happy with the amount of time he gets the puck. He wants more touches/scoring chances but has not been getting the passes he's used to getting.

Hughes quoted...

"just staying patient with it and with each other. Sharing the puck, spreading the puck. We're going to have five great players on the unit, and have to be able to let people have their individuality. If Petey has the puck and he wants to beat a guy and go in and rip it, or he wants to shoot the puck four times in a row, that's OK because he's a special player."

Tocc quoted...

"Sometimes when you're talented, you think you can just skill your way, and that doesn't work, I mean, you can't stand still, and the team's not going to let you take one-timers. So, you've got to move. We've talked to Petey about moving his feet. You can't just stand still. You might not be getting the puck as much that night ... but your responsibilities doesn't mean you just stand around. Better communication. If things aren't going great, are you being a good teammate?"

MacIntyre concluded...

"Which brings us back to connectivity, and the coach’s desire to get players to sacrifice and move out of their territorial silos — like Pettersson standing at the right-wing circle waiting for one-timers — to adapt and be more aggressive."

Kind of hints to Pouty expecting the puck to be fed to him. Or, I could be misreading these quotes.

I feel that's just about the power play, no? Seems like all the quotes have to do with that aspect.

What I read is the players want Pouty to freestyle and the coach wants him to stick to the plan.

...and I agree with Yorkie, it sounds like Tocchet is referring to the power play.

They all are talking about the power play.

Hughes: We're going to have five great players on the unit

Imac: Pettersson standing at the right-wing circle waiting for one-timers (that's where Petey sets up on the PP)

Or maybe Pettersson misses those slick passes from Kuzmenko?
