Trying to remember who was arguing with me around here a few years back that Kaprisov wasn't an elite talent hahaha.. Anyway, their whole PP is set up around him... and he's a stud.

Wild's first goal was insane. Bloom was very tight to that post like he should be. That Wild player could try that another 100 times and it wouldn't go in.

Ah well...they showed a bit of fight, didn't give up and battled.. and Sid got 3 apples. Just mining some silver linings, is all.

Gotta love the pens D dumping it in while everyone is waiting at the blueline.

0 chance of recovery but they keep trying

Very hard to get there if standing still flat footed hahah especially when most of the forwards aren't that fast.

Goals allowed so far this season: 6-3-4-3-5-4-6-3-4-4-5. Even in the 80s that was not good.

Cool seeing MAF get the 1st star and respect from the fans.

I’ve only watched 2 games but wow are they bad. It’s been a rough few yrs but this is unwatchable.

Sure you can can sully but the roster is a product of dubas. I’m not sure he survives another yr for his plan b w the pens.

Bunting and ek suck..

Wow... Pens are struggling bad and Sammy is back around... What a shocking revelation...

I think they're capable of better and will get better... But still miss playoffs.

Yeah, it's crazy that 3 is their best and they've only managed that 3 times, 4 or more 8 times.

48GA in 11gms. Nobody should be okay with this. Time for some accountability to show up. The only thing beat writers, the players & Sullyvan should be talking about is defense. Acknowledging the problem is the first step in fixing it. Lock it down; play the trap, get some pts, win 2-1.

It really is the only solution, but the players don't want to play it and Sully doesn't want to coach it. Somehow losing is more appealing than a strategy shift that would help them stay competitive.

Hopefully he pulls it all together. It's concerning that he wanted out of Winnipeg because they wouldn't guarantee him a NHL roster spot and now he wasn't able to get a spot in our lineup. Time will tell but my female doging and moaning is mainly because I was super excited with Yager and I felt like he is the better player even right now.
- MacPatty

I don't fully blame you really. I was a big Yager fan too, even before we drafted him, and I hated losing a center like that. Still learning McGroarty a bit since I haven't been following him for over two years like Yager.

Not sure how accurate the reports about McGroarty wanting an NHL spot guaranteed were. He was rated higher, but they were probably in about the same tier. It's going to be a defining trade for Dubas one way or the other. I'm just going to give it another month or two before I get worried.

I was just about to post what has Puus and his zero shots on net this season done to be getting PP time haha
- MattStrat

I'm not a Puustinen fan, but the one thing he is pretty good at is the PP.

I think one of his knocks is he doesn’t make plays fast enough. When he has more time, like on the PP, he can make plays.

I thought we didn't like the defense first approach. I know I've read some articles on here stating forwards must have an offence first mentality. Defensive responsible forwards aren't a worth a roster spot.

I know what some of you are thinking. We're not talking about guys with stone hands, we want guys who can at least score a few goals.

What about a guy who has scored 20 or more goals at the junior level. Also scored over 20 in the AHL. Is that enough? He has scored a few goals every year in the NHL except last year, under the great Mike Sullivan.

I'm referencing Jansen Harkins. Don't tell me he isn't one of the guys we're talking about.

Puustinen was given his chance last season. He didn't do much with it. Move on to the next guy.

Bruins have been looking pretty putrid too. They look slow AF.

I f'd up my neck a bit at a game Monday night, so I was having trouble sleeping last night and turned on the Sharks and Kings game....one of the slowest paced games I've seen in a long time. The Pens have looked like speed demons in their games this season compared to what I saw out of those two teams last night.

But at least they play with some semblance of structure. That can cover for lack of foot speed.

This is the best case scenario for the pens. They’re tanking for a high pick, Crosby is getting points, and guys like Eller, Rakell, and Acciari have been playing well to hopefully boost any trade value. Rakell might be tough with his contract, but maybe a deal comes in the offseason if he keeps playing with Sid and Geno

I was also hoping Jarry would play well enough to move his contract, but looks like he’s stuck here.

I’m totally ok with this team continuing to stink for an opportunity to draft Hagens or Martone.

IMO Rakell has been great and teams would be linning up to trade for him right now. I wouldn't trade him now.
Eller has been great too.

Bunting has been bad and I could see us trading him. Graves has been good but now is the time to move on and try a trade. Beauvillier has been meh. O'Connor too. Wait and see approach.
