It doesn't tell me anything about the mental makeup of the player. What tells me about his mental makeup is all the hurdles he has overcome to become a decent NHL player. Bad coaching and losing pretty much a full year to injury. He has overcome all that. Criticizing him for his play to this point in the season is fair. The rest is not. You state that it's a contract year for Frost. The key word is year. 10 games does not make a year.

excuses for frostsky. only player in the history of the nhl to have "obstacles".

they should do a netflix series on him.

hope he does so all the crybabies come out in full force whining.

You've already got that part covered. Do you throw banana peels out in front of old folks homes by any chance? You seem like the type that would do that and then get a chuckle out of it when some old head goes ass over tincups.

You asked and I told you what winning the game does for them. In the long run, it doesn't mean much, but losing all the time is exhausting for the players.

I agree, long term doesn't mean much. My opinion is for this team player development should take precedence over winning.

I'm not there yet. If he was the only one, I'd say maybe. Most of the team has been in a funk offensively for most of the season to this point. The absurd level of line juggling doesn't help. He needs to get going. As does Tippett, Farabee and Foerster.
- MJL

funk or they just are not that good.

you are the one whining about the pens getting the 1st pick.

what I do is get some quarters and put mustard on them. then put them on the floor and watch people pick them up at the mall. funny as hell to see their face

There is more to it for me. The scratches last season, the relationship I think he and Torts have. I can't imagine Frost wanting to stay (even if he is an RFA) or Torts wanting him to stay. Frost can't play like Torts wants him to play and I don't think Frost wants to play like that.

I get the part about the relationship but Frost knows how he has to play. He just isnt getting it done right now. It's on Frost to get better. Even his play away from the puck has dropped off.

I wouldn't be surprised if he did and they are just not going with it public ala Gauthier. If anything they have proved they can keep their mouths shut when they need to.

They are basically the same age. Pinto has 1G and 2A, and is a -3 so far this season in 6 games played. I honestly don't know the contract situation, but I know he is a bigger player than Frost (although he only has 4 hits on the season). Not sure if the numbers work or make sense, but it's kind of stunning how invisible Frost has been in a contract year to date. I figured that he would rack up a 50+ point season and get paid, and then go into the suck tank next year after he was paid.

- Phillywhiteout

Ya only a year apart….and Frost probably a bit more accomplished. Perhaps a change of scenery for both guys would help….Ottawa has Stutzle and a at least for now healthy Josh Norris. So they are bit deeper down the middle. They also have a couple of younger guys coming.
Again it just shows teams don’t like parting ways with talented young centers.

maybe though little diff situation. either way not going to get much at all for him.

would probably extract more value if he was part of a bigger trade or frostsky and 1st for something.

Yes, a different situation for sure. I am just speaking to this front office's ability to keep things under wraps when they need to.

right. I was talking more on the agent side. if things are slow they would leak it out imo.

That is true. I guess it depends on what type of relationship that agent wants with the team going forward.

agents know the flyers are a clown show!!!!

say he did make a request, guess how long-ago would determine if/when the agent would leak it.

either way doesn't look like it will work here for him. if he finds success elsewhere then so be it.

Maybe maybe not.

I answered your question yesterday about NMC/M-NMC/NTC's given out by the Flyers and where they rank. It is next to last with 3. So, at least they are not a clown show in that respect.

We all know that only players who ask out of a tough situation are the ones that care. They are the only ones that want to win.

They wouldn’t know a superstar unless it was gifted to them on a platter.

Since 2006 we have Claude Giroux, and Matvei Michkov.

To pretend that amateur/pro scouting isn’t a major problem is like saying the scum bags that continue to pillage money from this organization are somehow competent.

Drysdale was a mistake, hell for the injury history alone.

“Briere said that Bob Murray, who drafted Drysdale in Anaheim, spoke very highly of him on and off the ice.”

- flyer_nutter

It isnt about scouting. How many times has this team had a tip 5 pick during that time? The Flyers got lucky with Giroux. He was a late pick if im not mistaken.

Weve had 2 top 5 picks. You could say we got lucky with Michkov too. He shouldn't have been available. We got screwed out of Kane in 2007 ans in 2017 we got a guy who career ended due to a concussion

You have to get lucky to get elite talent middle of the pack / Late.

Drysdale was not a mistake. Gauthier refused to sign and he was the best Briere could get. They went after Byram but Colorado refused. The flyers would only have been able to keep the Gauthier situation under wraps for so long. Its anazing it didn't come out sooner

You are overexaggerating his injury history. He was healthy his whole junior career. He had a bad year with a shoulder that cost him a season in anh. His second injury the year after was self inflicted by holding out for a contract and missing camp. Hes been healthy so far this season

Injuries are not going to be the issue with drysdale

If true he would have been moved by now unless the request was recent. Eventually the agent would say something if not moved within a reasonable amount of time

ex selke, sanheim, seeler? TK won't kick on until next year. thought tippet had one. would have thought higher.

after looking at the roster many on ELC or 2nd contract so can see why they have a lower number.

flyers are just an "unlucky" organization. that is why they are in the shape they are in.

than what is JD if it isn't a mistake so far?

All players learn when they are developed under a losing environment is how to lose. The best development for a young player is being inserted into a winning environment since then they have no choice but to get on board or fail. When young players develop under a losing environment, a majority tend to care more about their individual stats instead of doing what they need to do for the success of the team.

ND's modified NTC just expired or he'd be on that list. Still crazy that Fletch gave a 4th liner a NTC.

Islanders with 12? Kraken with 10? wow.
