I would be worried if he still looked like this at the end of the season. Didn’t think he would improve without game experience. - psuhockey
I said before the season want him play 70+ game and go from there. health right now is the key imo.
That being said he just looks like well not a bright player. lacks hockey smarts to me. |

Let's also blame the 7-8 forwards and 4-5 defenseman that have been bad/terrible this season so far. Michkov-Coots-Konecny-Sanheim-York and maybe Ersson have been ok/good this season. Everyone else needs to pickup the pace.
They are a bad team. Devoid of talent. The real issue is that they will find a way to finish in the bottom 12, not the bottom 5. - mickel25
I'm fine with blaming EVERYONE who deserves it, not cherry pick the ones that hurt my fantasy feelings.
Let's not forget the main culprit in ALL of this...the coaching staff.
As for your list....Has Coots really been ok/good? I missed his hat trick game, but I don't believe he was given any chance to be ok/good until that game.
TK? I guess if you go to leading scorers on the team, but he has made a lot of mistakes so far this year.
Sanheim/York? Like I said earlier looking through all the goals given up they have been on the bad side of things being out of position.
Michkov? Obviously he has had his moments, but he also gets slack because he is young, but mistakes have been made.
Ersson? Sure seems like a bright spot on the team, but does he look good because everyone else looks so bad or has he really been good? |

They can move guys if they really wanted to. Fletcher did at the cost of assets. Flyers could send a pick and Risto to SJ or some other bad team, they could move Farabee, They could move Ellis dead contract, they can move Laughton, Cates, demote Deslaurier. Could have let Poehling and Hathaway go. Tons of ways to make space if you want to.
Unwise moves but moves that fit with everyones narrative of the Flyers. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
why would they want to send a pick with RR if they are rebuilding? that makes zero sense. you ride it out.
all else you wrote sounds great except for the fact the flyers will not do it and didn't let those guys go. they have shown no inclination to do what needs to be done. |

They arent different. That is my point. This is a team that is missing 2 significant pieces. They mneed a #1C and a #1D. They got everything else. The two pieces they need are picks they need to strike gold gold on to get or hope one becomes available which usually only happens if a guy wants out, like Eichel - xShoot4WarAmpsx
If everyone currently in the system meets a plausible outcome they need 4 players in my estimation: a 1C, a 1LW, and middle 6 C and a top pair left handed defenseman. Hard to get but not impossible. |

Is this with the thought process that forwards all get moved down accordingly or traded away?

A team like SJ doesn't want Ristolainen. If you're gutting the team then why do you want to go into free agency? Your confusing points of where a team is. Trading a pick to move a bad contract is a rebuilding move. Using free agency is a try and win move. - MJL
Im not confusing anything. Im simply stating if the team wanted to make space they could. They clearly dont want to. A team like SJ would easily take an asset and take Risto. They literally did that with Edmonton takin Ceci.
Arent you the one stating all the time this isnt a rebuild? The fact that you say they want to dip into Free Agency would mean they are looking for a win now move, no?

Stanley Cup winning teams typically have 3 elite players and good depth after them. By elite I mean top 5 at their position in any given year in their prime. The majority of teams don’t have that. I believe the Flyers have one in Michkov. Is Zavragin another? He has put up numbers saying he might be but can’t be sure with goalies. But if so that means they need to draft one more.
I don’t think it’s being to much of a koolaid drinker to say Luchanko, Bonk, the rest of the prospects plus what’s on the roster now can be cobbled together provide good depth from the middle on down.

What is progression to you? Points? Creating chances? Saving goals?
Kind of tough to rack up assists when forwards aren't scoring goals and finishing chances, right?
Is he suppose to shut down the other team? Just this year so far goals against have not been his fault 90%+ of the time....so does he need to progress by telling his partners to be better?
Just going through every single goal the Flyers have given up this year, a lot of it is on Sanheim and York, but they have tougher matchups. So I guess that means getting better players that can matchup better against other teams? How many star players can a team get for a bucket of poop? I guess teams would want a lot of buckets or do they?
Look at the leash that Ghost got when he was here. Talk about dogpoop play, but it was ALWAYS someone else's fault. His partner, how the coach used him and holding him back, blah blah blah. It wasn't just his defensive play that was dogpoop, after his 65 point year he could barely get a puck on net or create anything. - Glak18
At 5 on 5 with Drysdale on the ice this season. The opposition is scoring 77% of the goals. 55% of shot attempts. They're getting 59% of the scoring chances. 61% of the high danger scoring chances. He has had 0 offensive output
He is objectively bad at 5 on 5 to this point of the season.

Everyone gets moved down. I don’t see any on the roster as top line players except Michkov on a Stanley cup winning team when this team is ready to compete. |

How? Look at Vegas. What stars did they have? Eichel and Pietroangelo. Everyone else was good players. Those two player above are what the Flyers need.
The majority of the roster were 50-60 point guys
If you dont think the Flyers have guys equivalent to William Karlsson, Marchessault, Stephenson, Roy, Kessel(Declined version) and Reily Smith, you are the one who is delusional.
What are they missing? An Eichel and Pietrangelo and maybe a Shea Theodore but the hope is Drysdale can be that. Michkov may not be as defensively sound as Mark Stone but he is likely going to be better than peak Mark Stone offensively.

So the reason the 4 other players and goaltender on the ice are playing so poorly....is because of Drysdale is on the ice with them? Correct?

Yes because stating that the Flyers are trading a pick + Risto means SJ wants Risto. Perhaps you should learn to read before commenting.

Not looking forward to this one. We never play well in Boston.. I will watch because I want to see how Andrae plays.

It could be worse, you could be there in person like I will be getting drinks dumped on you every time the Bruins score. I just hold out hope the Flyers show up for this one. The Bruins haven't exactly jumped out of the gate this season either. |
