TJ, you know I defend all the time for being a 200 foot player and how solid he is between the dits, But I also have to be honest and note a player faults or issues when that's warranted, irrespective of the player. If we get 2021 Mika in the playoffs, the team will explode.

Father Time may be catching up to him. It does to all players. It is also November 1st, so he has some time this season. It’s about time the 3rd line (not specific players, just in general) stepped up and eased some of the burden too. On him and the top 6 as a whole I mean

Playing catchup. Been a hell of a week at work.

SkjeiStadium: Congrats man! Enjoy the little one as much as possible. They soon start becoming mobile and talking back to you.

Curious when a debate/differences of opinion turned into a proving ground to convince another person to adopt or believe another's opinion on a subject.

In my OPINION, TJ sees Zib through an overly positive lens of what he has accomplished and currently provides to the team. I see the current Zib more negatively, as in losing his drive/confidence, that hurts more than helps. Both points have truth and both have biases.

With that said. TJ is ALWAYS wrong with his trade ideas. So there is that.

I haven’t made a trade since the TDL last year lol I’m actually thrilled with the roster right now. Although the defense is definitely worrisome more so then any forward, including Mika

Maybe I gave Zib a mulligan last year. If he still sucks by next year I’ll get on board regurgitating how bad he is on an hourly basis aswell

Agreed right now its

#1 fox
#4 Miller
#4 Schneider
#5/6 Trouba/Lindgren/Mancini/ Jones

They need a real 2/3 dman that can shutdown opponents top 6

Can I send one dollar a month for the next 360 months?

Going to games is more of hassle than anything else imo. It’s too expensive and tiring lol

I’ve turned around ALOT on Schneider. I was trading him like crazy last year lol.

This is why I kill miller because maybe he’ll turn it around. Like I did with Kakko. You’re welcome

Miller just plays real soft for his size and brutal mistakes. He is not worth much more than he is making and due for a new contract

Wonder if there's a swap to be made for Vlasic on the Hawks (not to be confused with Marc Edward Vlasic)? He's one year younger than Miller but basically all defense and no offense. He's 6'6.

Nevermind he just signed a 6 year deal. Don’t think they’d be interested

I brought this up the other day, miller vs Lindgren. As far as who stays and goes. Right now I think you can get a decent haul (more then Lindgren) for Miller and save a few bucks on the contracts. Because I think we all agree it’s one or the other and I think it’s 50-50 at best for them in Drurys mind. I lean Lindgren

Has anyone been following fortesque? And how he’s doing? He might be a key part down the road where they really need him to be good. He’s LH isn’t he? Schneider being able to play the left side is enormous considering the left side guys staying or going

Mancini seemed to come out of nowhere which is a great thing to have happen

Yes his play slipped over the last season and 9 games BUT the slippage is way overstated. He scored 92 points in 2022-2023 and 72 points in 2023-2024. Just over a point a game and then just under a point a game. The counter then is but 5 x 5? True, but he also gets way more D zone starts than the #1 line. Having said all this, he need to up his game but so far has not hurt the team to this point, this year

I’m not sure we’ve ever had a better PKer (forward) over the years either. He’s much better special teams guy but those are important parts of any teams success. He and Kreider have turned games around on the PK. My problem is it’s literally everyday bashing him. It’s nauseating

I think what is bothering people ion Mika is lack of leadership, no emotion or accountability. He is so easy to play against lately. He refuses to shoot or create. Its very odd

You really need to think of them as a tandem - they play every second of every game together- Batman and Robin style. Holy shoot the puck, Batman.

So I just looked it up

NY rangers short handed pts leaders history

Messier - 51!! So he’s obviously the best all time lol
Walt Tkachuk - 29
Graves -27
MIKA -25

That matters imo, and certainly can’t be glossed over (ESPECIALLY last year) because those are huge moments in games most of the time

It's true. They seem to be connected more than note. Almost too close and connected. I wonder if they pee together and help each other shake it in the locker room. They may be TOO close.
I was an advocate for splitting them up as a line. I know, I know, who would move where. But I can't help but get the feeling something is somewhat stagnant there and maybe it isn't just who is playing on their right side.
