I'm thinking quite clearly actually. Torts is gonna coach to give the team the best chance to win. I hate the way Torts is juggling the lines and he needs to stop, but playing conservatively until some of these guys get out of their slumps is almost a must. Look at their record since they went conservative. Hell, even in yesterday's game they had chances. Frost needs to bury that point blank chance! Boston was on a mission yesterday (losing 8-2 Thursday) and they were gonna shut it down. The Flyers don't have any finishers or they certainly could have had a different outcome yesterday. Oh, and that first goal was a softie. They have to play this way for the time being or they will get blown out by the next 3 teams on the schedule.

If you're thinking that Tortorella's current approach is the right approach, then you aren't thinking clearly. It's just not realistic and it's not good for the long term growth of the team. It's placing trying to win above development when they have no realistic chance to win anything. Playing conservatively doesn't help players get out of offensive slumps. The most likely outcome is that they're going to get beat by the next 3 teams anyway. Regardless of how they play. There is no value to the Flyers being a middle of the pack team. So there is no risk

Could you imagine what the Sixas attendance would be if they were this bad for this long. They'd have to pay folks to attend their games. Eh what?

You're line of thinking simply isn't realistic. They need to get their defensive bearings and then worry about getting their offensive games going. The transition game will come if they play the right way. Let's face it, they need to score off the rush cause they seem terrible at cycling pucks in the offensive zone cause they don't win puck battles on a regular basis. Torts just needs to stop messin with the lines. You think it's good for team development to lose 8-1?

This is what I find baffling about the "rebuild". They change style of play to very conservative, which certainly involves tactics that has no shot of winning in the playoffs. I guess my basic point is I would hope a rebuild involves improving overall team talent and a playing structure that involes sustained winning. Right now, this is year 3 in which the players are required to block shots and hopefully counter attack. All in the name of culture. Seems like a whole bunch of bruises for minimal gain. I do believe if the results over the next 15 games do not significantly improve, the bottom falls out. 3 years of the same rhetoric with little roster turnover and minimal success has an expiration date, IMO.

It's about improving overall team talent here. Folks want them to play an aggressive style, but is this roster really built for that? They played that style for the first 50 games last year and then ran out of gas. They aren't good enough. They really aren't that good of a skating team in my opinion and playing that style requires lots of speed and they simply don't have it.

When did they have the best transition play and scoring off the rush? When they played the way they are now in 22/23 or when they played more aggressively then they are now in 23/24? Yet you say my line of thinking is not realistic. I think what is best for team development is to stay consistent in the way you play and instead of dummying it down to become more competitive. Stick with the growth and the better strategy that fits the current NHL and coach the team and the players through their issues. What Tortorella is doing is not a solution, it's just a band aid that doesn't fix the problems. The style that he has them playing is not the right way. Conservative defensive hockey does not foster a transition game.

See my comment above. They played that style last year, but couldn't maintain it. I really think this team is slow and that really hurts their ability to play the style that they played last year. Yeah, they played it for 50 games and then hit a wall. Their forwards aren't fast enough as a group. Just my opinion.

Incorrect. I want them to play the style of play that they played last season. Their younger players should be better with more experience. They added Michkov. Did they get less talented than they were last year? Why were they able to play that way last year but not this year? Your comments not only lack hockey knowledge but they lack common sense.

They couldn't maintain it because Tortorella pushed them to play with playoff level intensity from game 1. Nothing to do with team speed.

You love telling people that you havent spent a dollar on the Flyers for over 10 years but you praise the Flyers attendance for putting out a horrid product year after year and try to put down the Sixer's attendance for doing exactly what youre boasting about. Youre a hypocrite and stooge, Eh, thats what! Thanks

So you want them to play an aggressive style, but not play with playoff intensity? Color me confused. What does that mean? You can't have it both ways. They look like a slow team this year for some reason. Their passing has been god awful and that is probably a big part of it, but what changed. You can't play an aggressive transition game when your passing sucks.

I won't get anything he says on here cause I will no longer engage that loser on here. It's funny though that the head turd (Embiid) got into a tussle with a media member last night. I just love watching the Sixas implode. Bunch of overpaid spoiled brats!!! Again, just change the NBA to the BBA (Big Baby Association).

Do you think right now that Winnipeg, TB, Vegas, Carolina or Florida are playing with playoff level intensity right now in the first month of the season? Or do they ramp up their intensity level in the playoffs. You're easily confused.

Again, you are the one confused. Those teams have oodles of talent and don't have to play at that intensity all year. They can afford to gradually ramp it up. The Flyers are not afforded that measure cause they lack the talent to play only half ass. We've been through this already. Torts had to have them play that way last year for them to compete and now you're complaining cause he doesn't have them playing with enough intensity. Well, which is it?

What was more fun ….seeing Embiid shove a reporter last night? Or Jason Kelce smash the kids phone to pieces at the Ohio-Penn State game….I’ll go with Kelce. Bonus question….who’s in more trouble in this new woke world?😂

Oh here we go, more useless stats designed to manipulate less informed people like yourself. How many of those assists are secondary? I recall one assist where Frost missed the net from the high slot and the puck luckily bounced off the boards onto TKs stick. Hardly on purpose. How many games this season where Frost has 0 points? That’s what matters!

Jesus Christ, I will make sure I reference this as a caveat any time you mention some players point totals. He has assists but they arent the right kind of assists. He has points but they can only be the right type of points.

Now we're going in circles. Or should I say you are. Not playing at playoff intensity and the emotion that comes with it, does not mean that you are playing half assed. You can avoid pushing your team to play with playoff intensity and still be a competitive team. I'm not advocating, again here is where you're confused again, to play without intensity. I also have not stated that he has them playing without intensity. Again you're confused. I'm talking about style and system of play, not intensity level when I state that he has them playing a more conservative style. Tortorella tries to gain an edge with conditioning and intensity level. It will only take you so far.

I have no problem with what Kelce did. The world was a much better place when it was socially acceptable to blast a person in the face for being a jerk. As Tyson said the internet has made too many people comfortable with mouthing off and not getting the head kicked in.

Bottom line, they have to play balls to the wall every night to be competitive and they aren't doing that this year for whatever reason, so Torts has fallen back into the conservative style to try to get them some wins cause he sees it as their only chance right now. I think he would rather them play the aggressive style, but they were getting their doors blown in 5 on 5 when they tried to play that style earlier this season.
