Got a nice 2 period look at Kane a couple weeks ago. He looked healthy and really really dangerous. Maybe more so than ever even. His is so silky and so poised, the game is so slow for him. ....
In fact, for the first time since he left I thought Kaner would fit like a glove on this Hawk's roster. - Mr Ricochet
Less than 100 pts from being all time American born pts leader. Unless a major injury occurs that ends his career, I see him breaking that in 2 years. |

The rebuild started when they gutted the team and jettisoned Dach to draft Nazar and picked Korchinski as their guy to build the blue line around (until of course they drafted Levshunov this past year). - fattybeef
I've always looked at the Hagel trade as the start of the rebuild, but the teardown didn't end until the end of this past season, at least that's how i define it

But they were. They got Seider with the 6th overall, and were in line the next year for the 1OA and lost the lottery to end up choosing Raymond. Not bad consolation prizes, but they were bad enough to get those picks. They made some other picks that went to poop which is entirely possible with the Hawks picks as well. That's why I think the Hawks need to make sure they are constantly improving. - Chunk
That's why having multiple 1s, 2s, and 3s for a four of five year stretch is important, some will fall by the wayside, but i like the odds drafting like the Hawks have for the past few years and for a couple more

Those 2 along with Donato are probably the 3 biggest in season or TDL trade chips KD has (along with draft picks). Be interesting to see if he is an active or does like last year and actually extends someone like a Donato.
Also what is Kurashev? Last year's Kurashev or this years model that resembles the previous 3 years ? His contract is up again after the season, and do the Hawks want to take him to arbitration again? - LAHawk
Seems like if Donato keeps playing like this, you'd consider extending him. You can't have all rookies, and he is way younger than I thought he was. Was thinking he was at least in his early 30s

We're rolling Vlasic, Kaiser and Allan all out there at the same time and staying competitive. That's much better than the Boqvist, Jokiharju and end of Keith days. I agree our weakness is getting the puck out of our zone where the Forwards can do something but these guys will continue to improve. I thought Rinzel looked like Drew Doughty the first time I saw him. It would be so huge if he were anything close. Then there's Lev and KK. - rpeters01
When they get an ice level view you see just how big Rinzel is. He looks faster this year, and he looks like he added 25 lbs of muscle.
Good thing Toronto is so good on D, they didn't need that pick to get him.
He always seems like the forgotten prospect, i could see him passing KK in a year or so.

If memory serves, he was playing 2C last year during their run to the top. Kind of a do-it-all guy that chipped in points as well. As you said, he's on a tear now. Fun to see, but not sure how sustainable it is.
EDIT: Thanks for the link! - Chunk

Off topic.... Did the Bears make any moves to improve the team. I personally think firing Flus and Waldron is addition by subtraction. We all get mad about the Hawks front office but good lord the Bear's monopolized it. |

Still think they could have held on to him.
Will be 27 next year? He'll probably play at this level until he is 31? Maybe 32?
Keep forgetting who they got back in the trade draft pick wise...Moore aaaand? Drawing a blank |

I think it was Boisvert(sp?)
It took me a while to remember the names of the two scrubs that got thrown into that trade.
Not sure if we pick first overall if Hagel is on the team scoring a handful of game winners. |

Not so much. The only move I heard earlier was they traded Khalil Herbert to the Bengals for a 7th round pick which is about what you'd expect to get for a RB who I don't think has more than 10 carries this year.
I think Poles has generally done a good job but yes Flus and Waldron need to go. They won't do it in season though. Would be breaking character. |

I forgot about that he was a negative sum considering like you stated 10 carries if that. Swift and Johnson are upgrades in that position So typical for the Bears not to try and save the season. It's obvious Flus has lost the locker room. |

I think it turned out like this.
B Hagel
4th Round Pick 2022 - This Pick was traded to LA - Kenny Connors
4th Round Pick 2024 - This pick was traded to Nashville - Jakub Milota
T Raddysh - Not qualified.
B Katchouk - lost to waivers.
1st Round Pick 2023 - Moore
1st Round Pick 2024 - Boisvert - We traded up with NYI to move from 20th-18th. NYI took Eiserman.

Hoping:
Vlasic, Arty, KK, Rinzel
Kaiser and Allen
Leaves DelMaestro to battle for third pair. A third pair with both dmen complimenting their mate, both have a strength
Which makes for a good pair. Allen will be tough and Kaiser can move the puck. DelMaestro is smart and tough but is actually well rounded dman whose mobility may actually not be a weakness/he is ok he can actually carry and move puck fine albeit a tad slow
Crevier may develop into a solid defensive guy who can provide a good shot and is actually well rounded - would help if he decides to check harder, check often and not merely stick check. With his reach he has potential to be solid defensively. I can imagine him playing as an injury replacement and both Crevier and Vlasic using reach and physicality against the attack. - jhawk59
There will be other future D-Men as well by draft and Euro signings.

I think the Hawks have until Nov.8 (30 days) to send Phillips down before having to put him through waivers again, My guess is Martinez will be activated in a day or 2 and Phillips will end up back in Rockford. - LAHawk
As long as he's in the AHL, can't he be claimed at any time?

I am looking forward to seeing who Kane linemattes have and are as they will battle Blackhawks. Yes I believe Kane is as good as ever, probably nearly 100% recovered from his surgery. If Larkin plays with Kane… but had he regularly? Detroit doesn’t have enough top end pieces to but barely make playoffs. Might they need another center? Nice prospects in AHL but Ted Wings don’t have future top pieces in system as best I can determine |

Oh right, forgot about him
For some reason Gajan and Vanacker were popping in my head. But then I remembered Gajan was a 2nd round pick and Vanacker they got via some other trade. |
