I think it turned out like this.
B Hagel
4th Round Pick 2022 - This Pick was traded to LA - Kenny Connors
4th Round Pick 2024 - This pick was traded to Nashville - Jakub Milota
T Raddysh - Not qualified.
B Katchouk - lost to waivers.
1st Round Pick 2023 - Moore
1st Round Pick 2024 - Boisvert - We traded up with NYI to move from 20th-18th. NYI took Eiserman. - breadbag
So Boisvert and Moore basically need to turn into 3rd liners at least for it to be considered a good KD trade.
I know Hagel probably wouldn't have been putting up those point totals in Chicago, but he's looking good for Tampa. |

Not so much. The only move I heard earlier was they traded Khalil Herbert to the Bengals for a 7th round pick which is about what you'd expect to get for a RB who I don't think has more than 10 carries this year.
I think Poles has generally done a good job but yes Flus and Waldron need to go. They won't do it in season though. Would be breaking character. - HawkintheD
Poles has had his share of hits and misses.
Don't think he is bad,but he screwed the pooch on the O Line this year.
And in general, they could have picked a good head coach last offseason - Harbaugh,Belichick,Vrabel or gone after Ben Johnson. That has been a massive blunder as of right now. |

We're rolling Vlasic, Kaiser and Allan all out there at the same time and staying competitive. That's much better than the Boqvist, Jokiharju and end of Keith days. I agree our weakness is getting the puck out of our zone where the Forwards can do something but these guys will continue to improve. I thought Rinzel looked like Drew Doughty the first time I saw him. It would be so huge if he were anything close. Then there's Lev and KK. - rpeters01
Rinzel can skate with Doughty but to me Doughty is a more stout physically engaged guy. Now, too early to say how a 25-28 yr old Rinzel would play physically but if he stays as is as far as physically I see more and more a Dougie Hamilton kinda player.
Posted after last yr that IMO Rinzel was the most improved player in the pipeline, a pipeline that has some real talent. ...... And I'd add I like his frame of mind. Taken in rd 1, probably surprised him a bit, and instead of being in a hurry to start the process and get to the U of MN he stayed another yr in the USHL. And, IMO it was the best thing to do cuz he was really really raw but could skate with soft hands.
Great freshman yr at 20 yrs old and this yr as a sophomore he's rolling at U of MN.. |

Agree on all. Hopefully he's already figured that out and making his offseason plans. |

For anyone who likes to check in on Hawks prospects this website is great. Updated daily.

Aidan Thompson on a tear at Denver right now. Anyone know much about him? Never really hear anything. 3rd rounder. - bhawks2241
Thompson is outa the USHL. I saw him a decent amount his 2 yrs at Lincoln. He's listed at 5ft 10 170lbs now and he played like a smaller guy. Quick and skilled, a 2 way responsible game, played 1C but at his size he's not dynamic enough for some scouts... I liked him. An aware, solid IQ, all around solid.
But, he's 22 and by my math death he was a draft +2 pick. Drafted in his 2nd yr of eligibility. Born in Feb 2002 he was drafted in 2022.......... 2 yrs in the USHL and in his 3rd yr as a 22 yr old at U of DEN. Can't argue with his numbers but he is doing so as an older player.
Probably be an AHLer but you never know. At the very least looks to be a good AHLer and he just may end up a useful bottom 6 NHLer. https://www.eliteprospect...yer/536536/aidan-thompson

So if he continues on this current path he'll be a Hawk when he's 24, maybe 25?
Probably OK.
Again, guys who are successful at lower levels don't mean they will at the NHL level, just good to have lots of shots, and with all their high picks, if they get an occasional 3rd, 4th, or 5th rounder hit, even better. |

As long as he's in the AHL, can't he be claimed at any time?
- rpeters01
No. He can only be claimed off of waivers for 24 hrs of being put on waivers. If he is sent to the AHL, then he is fine. If he is retained on the Blackhawks roster after the 30 days are up, he would have to go on waivers again to be sent down to the AHL again.

Got anyone in mind? maybe a 90+ pt Selke finalist who most think is too soft?
- Chunk
You'd think the islanders need a retool. I'd like to get Barzal. If the Senators are still mediocre I could see them moving a piece just to move a piece. Maybe someone like Norris is an odd man out.
Marner I think would be a good pick up. Solves a lot of problems, other than size.
I really liked the suggestion for Chytil. The Rangers need to move money either half way or after this year. Kakko may be available and he would at least add size.
I think the Ducks fire their coach before they start to unload.
Buffalo, lol, they'll probably try to retool at some point things clearly aren't working there. |

I also look at it this way. If we had kept Hagel, we probably wouldn't have Bedard (Because we probably win a few more games), so it all worked out in the end. |

Don’t believe NYI move Barzal irregardless of team playoff result. Norris is not what Chicago needs don’t waste any asset to get him. I also do not want either of the NYR guys because neither long term better than our prospects will be and I don’t even think the NyR players will become top scorers.
The Ducks want to keep a couple veterans so I doubt they move anyone except maybe Vatrano. They are under rebuild and if they fire the coach it is a black eye on GM as well.
Oh I think Chytil is too brittle. Buffalo needs 1) kids to just gain experience and develop 2) maybe a veteran or two 3) a better coach and maybe a better GM |

Norris is a 2 way center. Isn't that what every team needs?

His health?
I think we should wait to get a more clear prognosis on our prospects. I would wish to see KD select a top forward with the ‘25 first round. What would it cost to get Norris anyway? We have a lot of forwards who are most likely going to be NHL but we need to be very careful
Who our long term #2 center is - what style and who would be on that line as well as who is going to be on Bedard’s line. It is just too early for my way of thinking to go after a #2 center |

They don't have one which is why they need to get one.
The worst case scenario is they have a surplus of centers and they can trade one. Relying on prospects to out kick their coverage or live up to their hype sheet is way more risky than getting a known commodity. |

Couldn't agree more. As has been repeated ad nauseum, not all of the drafted prospects will make the big roster. If the right piece is available, definitely need to consider it. |

I agree, Williams made every throw in college. Displayed great touch, very accurate especially on the move, throwing to guys who haven't yet come out of their break.
Tell you what, I've seen nothing of that as a Bear. He's been very inaccurate not just on deep passes, 5-8 yards off, and even when he completes a pass 50% of the time he doesn't hit the receiver in stride (very little run after the catch) and rarely, if ever as a Bear, completes a pass before the receiver comes out of his break. Often late getting balls to guys who are clearly open.
And these are pro bowl receivers in Allen, Moore, Kmet and the 9th overall pick, Odunze, who I've loved at first sight with U of WSH. ........... Yea, the line is bad and the O coordinator looks like a bum but consistently being inaccurate, even on completions, has me wondering. ........... Geez, and stop letting him change plays 40% of the time. Barking calls like Manning. Kid ain't ready for full control. - Mr Ricochet
It's ALL on how he's being coached. It was the same with Fields. Eberflus is NOT NFL head coaching material. For Gosh sakes McCaskeys smarten up and allow your leadership group to Fire this coaching staff immediately.

I don’t know if in-season trade is in the cards but I could see them trading for one in the offseason.
KFC has taken a lot of swings through the draft and having two first round picks again this year gives him some flexibility.
I know some people want to pencil in Nazar at 2C but I have no idea if he is one or better suited to wing ultimately. Even if Boisvert reaches that ceiling, he won’t be here for a while I would think.

I could see them making a trade at the deadline for a younger forward, they have Toronto's 1st, salary cap space, prospects and what not.
No need to chase, it seems players are always available. Not just you but it seems like most want this fixed right now. |

We've won a SC without a 2nd line center, not you, i don't understand this obsession, since this blog was created it is the one constant complaint I've heard.
|
|
|
|
To win a SC we need to be the deeper more talented team that can play several different styles of hockey.
It's looking like we are going to be pretty deep at the blue line.
Goalies in the system and I'm not giving up on Soda yet he looks good.
The forwards are coming and there are many of them. Sounds like most of them have that dog in them as well which i believe is a key ingredient when it comes to playoff hockey. |
