Flyers Nation FB page. There are a couple of reliable posters there and one of them mentioned it this morning.

I think instead that we should just use some simple common sense.

Clearly you missed it. The context is who would be the funniest answer. It clearly says that.

Why are you such a screaming arsehole? I mean, what makes you get up everyday and look to start an argument over nothing. It's speculation and he might not even make it back to playing. Get a life!

Explaining what it is to you, is not being a screaming bumhole.

The reality is that he is an offensive defenseman, who is not a good defender. Who didn't even put up high offensive numbers at the AHL level

You are such a turd. I have a busy day, so argue with someone else. What are you gonna do if this site goes away? Look in the mirror (if you can stomach that) and argue with yourself everyday? Strap on those figure skates and STFU!

That’s a good question. Where do I go for Flyers gripes now?

It's not being a turd explaining to you what the article is.

This is what you posted

"While no official confirmation, it sounds of if the player secretly skating in hope of a return is Ellis"

There is nothing on the Facebook page or in the article that says that or even comes close to implying that. In fact, on the Facebook page it says "There was a “mystery skater” on the ice before #Flyers practice Monday. Who would be the funniest answer for which player it was?" The linked article, the headline is "The Flyers’ Mystery Skater: The Funniest People It Could Be" Some of the names listed in the article include Briere, Sharpe, Leclair, Claude Giroux and Cutter Gauthier. It is pure satire. Nobody said or implied or speculated that it was Ryan Ellis attempting a comeback

Now lets get to the common sense part. Ryan Ellis has not played competitive hockey in 3 years. So he's going to ramp up a comeback now by skating on his own in an empty rink? It's early November. training camp wasn't that long ago. If he was this close to attempting a comeback. Wouldn't he have attempted in then? When he could actually try and play in a competitive game setting?

This is just another example and more evidence of my assessment in our conversation on the previous thread.

Don't you eventually have to play a prospect at the NHL level. I don't see this one as a failure in development by the Flyers.
- MJL

How is it not a failure? If you knew anything about him when he was in college he was me of a rover than a dman. They knew what they were drafting. They once said they want him to mirror his game like the dman on Tampa, Cernak I believe.

They never taught him how do play defense. Then if not failure in development. Was it s bad pick?

During Tort's presser yesterday someone asked Torts about Frost and sticking with him, and Tort's frustrated, responded "I'm trying, I'm really trying". I took this to mean that if it were up to Torts Frost would be benched, but he's sticking with Frost because that is what Torts was told to do. My guess is Torts is going to keep rolling Frost out there so he can have a big I told you so moment with Briere. Either way, Frost has got to continue to play out this season as 2C and on the 1st PP unit, even to the detriment of the team. My hope is he starts playing better so the Flyers can get something in a trade. The Flyers simply cannot move forward with a player this inconsistent and mentally fragile.

There is no possibility that it was on the player in not being capable of improving his play to get to the NHL level? I'm very critical of the Flyers development processes but I don't put this one on them.

Yes he is ... anyone can see when Frost plays confident and when he doesn't, and right now he's not playing confidently. And you can't blame the coaching staff this time. Any pro athelete that is this inconsistent is mentally fragile.

This is nonsense. By this criteria half the league would be considered mentally fragile.
It's a little to early in the season to start casting players as snowflakes.

Most young players are inconsistent. Konecny was inconsistent. Farabee is inconsistent. Tippett is inconsistent. If Frost was mentally fragile, with what he had to go through developing, he would've never made it as an NHL player.

I agree with this 100%. Frost is a lot of things. Mentally fragile is not one of them.

He needs to produce. Torts thinks he is allowing Frost some runway to get going. I think that is what Torts was getting at. Not that he is being told to keep him in the lineup by Briere.

Of course there is the possibility that it is on the player. There is also blame to be placed at the development process. Just because you don't put any blame on the doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Why don't you put any of it on the Flyers?

Flyers track record of developing dman is not good. Did they allocate the resources into Attard to develop him?

Remember the bold next time your beating the door down for them to play Ginning or the like. Maybe they have determined just that. He isn't capable.

Generally his argument isn't really player specific. It's more about what "rebuilding" teams should be doing in terms of roster management.

You want to ask me questions when you haven't stated or made your case as to why you think the Flyers screwed up his development. Tell me how specifically they did and then we can discuss it.

Yes, I want the Flyers to give NHL prospects playing time in the NHL as a team that is supposedly rebuilding. Attard has played 29 NHL games and Ginning has played 10 NHL games.
