A while ago I wrote this team will go thru a major transformation in the next year and a half.
One thing was Jarry needs to go. His trade value isn't very high. The thing is now that we have seen Ned and Bloom struggle behind this defense, Jarry's value isn't nearly as bad as we once thought. If anything, it has gone up.
Second, I had Karlsson and Pettersson being traded this season. Pettersson is a no brainer, his contract is up. He will bring one of the best returns we can hope for. Now that Karlsson has played himself into a position where people here are fed up with him, it's easy to see him want out. Remember he has a no trade, no movement clause.
What we should look for from Pettersson is talent, the old player, prospect and pick. Karlsson we should get toughness. I think we are going to need some guys to counter the Darnell Nurse and the Xman from Montreal types. - Thunderbolt
I agree that these players will hopefully be shopped and traded. Unfortunately I think Eller will also be traded. |

Eller, Accairi and Petts would be sought after by contenders. |

This is also true. I think they play tough roles and can fit in with almost all teams. Karlsson may end up being an offseason trade unless someone feels like he is the missing piece. Which if he becomes available I could see a few teams bidding for him. Eller will be an easy 2nd/3rd round pick. Accairi will probably be a mid round pick and Petts probably will get us the most. |

No, I think the people you're referring to, myself included, wanted good defensive players that could also provide some decent depth scoring. A lot of seasons we had players in bottom 6 that weren't good defensively, always pinned in own zone, and also couldn't score haha. The line with Bluey, ZAR and Tanev I really liked... They didn't score much but they shut the other teams lines down very well. - MattStrat
Blueger, Tanev and ZAR did score a lot for the role they were placed. I've been saying for a long time now the expectations of the bottom six here is unrealistic.
We were spoiled with HBK and Matt Cullen. Matt Cullen was called a 4C, where in reality he was used throughout the line up. He received a good bit of PP time. Plus, he was the guy who got moved up when an injury happened or Sullivan wanted to shake things up a bit. HBK had two good third liners and Kessel. Kessel was a first line player who jelled with two solid players who could keep up with his speed.

Eller will be traded, no doubt.
Beauvillier, Drew, Nieto, Pullyerharvey, and Grz all have expiring contracts. They will be gone by TDL also, if anyone would want them.

Maybe they can do a huge swap of a trade with Edmonton
Kulak, Nurse, Nugent-Hopkins, and Kane
For
Karlsson, Pettersson, Eller, and Jarry. I could see Edmonton doing a better job with Karlsson. It allows Edmonton to get the RHD they are looking for and Goalie. We get RNH who we could use on our second line (they are using him as their 3rd line center currently) plus Kane could potentially be an anchor on the PP as a net front guy that we have lacked. I doubt it would happen, but cap wise it would work.

I just don’t see an NHL team looking at Karlson as a viable option to help a team in anyway. Swedish Elite league |
