I think the idea was to keep themselves open cap wise with options. With Miller and Lindgren almost a like a competition on who gets the long term deal. And ironically both guys may not deserve the years, which really puts them in a picklerick
Lindgren has blood guts grit and heart on his side tho, which gives him the upper hand in what I’m saying imo (in Drurys mind). Miller has potential which he has not reached by a long shot - Slimtj100
I love the heart Lindgren brings, I will never deny that; but his regression last year is what got him a one-year deal in the offseason...along with the outrageous $$$ he demanded.
I'll give my full verdict on keeping him around once we see how he plays without the fishbowl on his head for a few games.
Time to see what we can get for Miller. We blamed Trouba all these years, but perhaps the wrong guy was taking the heat there. Miller has Zibanajaditis right now. |

I keep bringing up provorov because he’s available and we really could use him and that will let them move on from both guys. Thats what the problem is, they can’t wait to get him or someone else if both miller and Lindgren aren’t great.
Provorov is 27 plays 24 minutes a game for CBJ and is even plus minus. CBJ sucks for the most part so It’s highly likely he’s better then both of the guys we have
Maybe the Mtl kid (Jackeye) is finally available. But he was untouchable if I recall |

They are going to give this team a chance to right the ship. This team definitely has a playoff hangover from last season and I don’t think they truly realize that teams are going to get up to play them. I get the sense they are still a little demoralized from getting so close but that’s no excuse. At times last season when they didn’t have their legs they still found ways to find that extra gear at crucial moments. I am seeing the adverse effect this season. At any point this season have we seen a big check or someone step to change momentum? As much as Rempe doesn’t provide really much of anything he does provide a spark that I think this team desperately needs. Every season is different but I’m concerned about the psyche of this group. They look emotionless. Refusing to play the body or play a style that requires a little more sacrifice. If I see Miller poke check one more time instead of using his monster frame to play the body I’m going to label him the next Tom Poti. I’m over it.

Miller is Del Zotto at this point to me. he will go have a nice career somewhere else but his time in NY could be done.

Don’t hate the Rempe idea, could use the energy and excitement he brings. Especially with how stale the team has gotten. Edstrom has kind of fallen off after a great preseason and first few games anyway. |

Then don’t look up how he’s played in Hartford because if you thought zib and miller have been bad… |

The whole team is pretty bad since Othmann went out with an injury. Their stats are awful. |

Trouba and Lindgren 100% are not here next year. Miller is a decision to be made bc is he worth his contract extension. Miller giving me Skeji vibes. Right now none of these players are 1st pair worthy. They need someone up there who is. In reality lindgren and miller can be moved at the deadliine for 2 potential upgrades. Mancini replaces trouba next year |

I think he means multiple trades that include more than the two mentioned players |

I am saying different trades and when I say better, potentially better fit for what NY needs. They need more of a shutdown player instead of miller on the top pair. Instead of Lindgren grab a Guidas type instead. Better defensively and tough. Not all in the same trade. |

Yes, clearly multiple trades and not 1 for 1. Need to get crafty to fill needs on the back end.

That’s the thing. People are clamoring to get rid of the entire defense basically, but who the hell is replacing them all
I think as a group we can give them a little more leeway. It is still early and they are still winning the majority of games
Maybe tonight is a “get right “ game as they say. Then a west coast trip is upon us and maybe that’ll help. Last year that’s kind of when it started rolling a little bit. Goodrow lost a bone in his mouth that week and galvanized the team lol |

Would be nice to turn it around here but I think there's a few too many things going against us right now. Mika, Kreider, Trocheck, Miller, and Lindgren are all either doing basically nothing at best to being incredible liabilities at worst. That's just from an individual player standpoint. My personal opinion after 14 games is that the roster needs to be shaken up a bit for any chance at contending for a cup (making the playoffs is likely). Not sure how to offset what is going on with Mika, especially when he's not able to be moved. Orrrr they just recapture what they had last season and prove me wrong and Mika poops on my lawn and i'll be happy with that |

They have a habit of not having everything working at once. Whether the pp is hot and nothing else is, the defense sucks but they’re scoring plenty of goals, the goalie is saving them wins but can’t score, etc.
Listen if they fail this year we’ll all get major changes we ask for 🤷🏻♂️so that would be fun to digest at least lol
Chytil Cuylle and Kakko should give us a collective boner. That’s been the bright spot |

Don’t love breaking up that line but Chytil should get a shot with Laf and Bread if Zib continues to struggle. Let Zib play a simple game and grind it out with Kakko and Cuylle. (Yes I know others have suggested this, and doesn’t look like Zib will be demoted anyway).
Rangers should wipe the floor with the Sharks tonight. If not, coaches need to start pushing different buttons.

Writing is on the wall. One year deal. If he was in future plans he’s locked up this past summer. Plus he doesn’t look good to start. If he looks like this by the tdl may as well package him up before he walks for free. |

Trading two dmen one who won’t be worth his next deal and one on the decline is a real shakeup a team could have to spark a run. It’s been done before |

I understand what you’re saying but I think Miller is key in this decision. If he doesn’t improve his game I’m not sure Lindgren is going anywhere is all I’m saying. I think they, and should’ve, expect more from miller this year |
