Is it conceivable GMGM would take Burakovsky from the Caps for this guy. Maybe with a pick thrown in?

To comment on Burakovsky: Pirri probably isn't worth much, if anything, if trading for Burakovsky. Age (23 for Bur vs 27 for Pirri), contract (Pirri is unrestricted vs Bur's Restricted), style of play (Bur is more of a complete player while Pirri is widely known to be a defensive liability) and most importantly they're direct rivals lol both want the cup and MacLellan isn't giving VGK an upgrade.

I agree, they'd need to sweeten the pot to get Andre. It is possible that Vegas is trying to put a cap on Pirri's value prior to possibly inking him to a longer deal. The bigger the numbers, the more negotiating power Pirri has.

I haven’t seen Pirri play in Vegas this year, but when he was shipped off the Blackhawk roster, he showed offensive talent, and absolutely no interest in playing defense. Has that improved?

He is much better on the other end. He also clogs the neutral zone fairly well.

The guy got hit and Gallant told management that he doesn’t care , he can’t have a guy that weak on D on his team . That’s my guess

Gallant likes Pirri. He has raved about him and coached him in Florida. He is the one who put him in the top 6, instead of pushing a 3rd liner up for Pacioretty.

I think Gallant likes him but this the most conservative approach for management. Keep assets. Not the worst idea for year 2 of an expansion organization.

Agreed, but my only concern is that he could walk next season with him being a UFA. He could remember how he excelled and then got dumped back to the AHL. There will be a team offering him a one-way deal with good term and money.

Ya, McPhee’s been all about “keeping assets”

The Golden Knights' decision to send Brandon Pirri down to the AHL despite his stellar performance was puzzling Mapquest Directions and controversial, suggesting there may have been factors beyond his professional career that influenced the decision.
