Bill, will the Rangers vs Flyers rookie-series be streamed on philadelphiaflyers.com? Can't wait to see Michkov play some hockey. |

What will McDavid look for in his next contract? Edmonton will have Close to 30% of the salary cap invested in 2 players, 40% in 3.

Laine allegedly vetoed a trade to the Flyers. I wonder why he wouldn't want to play for Torts again?

"Citing a source he described as reliable, Truman, appearing on BPM Sports on the Laraque & Gonzalez show, stated that Laine had been traded to the Flyers in exchange for forward Ryan Johansen's contract before using his no-trade clause to cancel the deal."
- Marco Normandin
So, Laine had been traded to Philadelphia in exchange for forward Ryan Johansen, but he used his no-trade clause to nullify the entire deal.
Trade refused.
To Philadelphia: Patrik Laine
To Columbus: Ryan Johansen

If this is accurate I am not surprised. I am not surprised the Flyers were trying to acquire him and I am not surprised he didn't want to come here.

In short, you aren't surprised.
Not that i think Laine should've come here but how many people now does that make who don't want to play for, and had a choice about it, the Gold Standard of the NHL since the triumvirate took took over? |

It is becoming worrisome for sure. Krug, Cutter, Laine (if true), RyJo and possibly Kolosov. Personally I am not upset this deal was nixed.

Some of them are absolutely because of Tortorella. Will be interesting if that changes when he is gone. |

It will change when they start winning. Even the 3 stooges know this much. This is in part why they will never embrace a true rebuild. |

Laine reportedly refused a trade to Minnesota as well.

This is a situation where a player not wanting to come here works in our favor. Saves the team from their own stupidity |

Krug out for entire 2004-5 season at least. - 77rams
Reminiscent of another bad trade they attempted to make. Their moves sure do inspire confidence.

I guess it really would have depended on which Patrick Laine the Flyers would have gotten in return. The one that wants to play hockey or the one who doesn’t. |

why would you have an issue with Laine coming to the flyers? |

doesnt really seem like a guy who fits into the Flyers "culture". I thought Torts was running things in the Flyerdom? Did Danny forget to run it by the boss before he tried to make this trade? |

For me it would be paying 8.7 mil per for the next two years for someone who has averaged 44 games for the past 4. That's a chunk for someone who can't stay on the ice.

Because at times he seems disinterest in playing hockey and just going through the motions. Does the least amount of effort needed. |
