Like the baton handoff pick, as I sad last blog he should get some leeway now that he’s put up some points. Fans are so fickle and think they know better than management. Sure there have been some blunders but Honzek hasn’t played much hockey the last while. Looks good on the kid.
Going to be some tough decisions made, Flames should dress the strongest team and not use waiver status to pick a team.

No. It's preseason. Nothing really matters. Coronato was the best player last preseason, and none of that transferred to when they started playing actual hockey. It's 100% locked in stone that Vladar and Wolf will share the crease when real games start until someone is clearly better.

Exactly. It’s not like Conroy blew the Giodarno signing, creating more blockage for our young D. We have some interesting decisions to make, and that’s not a bad thing.

I see Conroy clearing more vets out as the season progresses and the other teams decide on their needs.
We seriously can’t get too excited, anything but a top 5 pick next year should be considered a failure. Don’t get me wrong, I want to feast on the Oilers and Canucks for the season still.

Do you really think a team is going to claim a goalie who's been a below average AHL backup for the past three seasons and had an awful stint in the NHL last year because of a few preseason games?

Maybe he gets a chance to make something out of his career by starting more than 20 games for the Wranglers, but the odds that he has an NHL career are extremely small.

Preseason is meaningless. All that matters is you don't lose every game by six, and they've done that already.

I wrote that while I was still pissed with the ref last night. Thought they should have called a penalty on the play that allowed the 3 on 2 in overtime.

Flames send the kids to play and the ref gifts you the game. I just wish they would have sent Kuzmenko, Hunter and Jurmo to play. Alvine got hosed on the Lindholm deal.
