Glad you mentioned Gallagher.
I think limiting his minutes and using him in specific situations has really shown he still has something left in the tank - he is still a pain in the ass in front of the net, he is still working hard, but he seems to be moving better, involving himself better - he is with the play, not following the play.
Whether he can keep this up all season, not sure. But his play towards the end of last season combined with the start of this one is really great to see.

agreed. for Gally to continue being efficient it's a combination of the coach limiting his minutes and himself better managing his efforts and energy imo, as he obviously can't have the same ice time with the same intensity as he used to. hopefully he's found the sweet spot.

Another great blog Hugo/Scabeh!
I totally agree with you on pretty much everything. If we limit Gally's minutes and keep him healthy, we'll see his production increase over the season. His great early effort I truly believe is due to him being healthy and fresh. If there's anyone who encapsulates the "Wolfpack" identity they're trying to build, it's him. He's always been a warrior, sometimes to his detriment, as we need to keep his hands healthy, they're a weak point.
Lane Hutson has been a delight to watch. I think his minutes will only increase, and we'll soon see him replace Matheson on the top PP unit. He's got the elite hockey IQ and skills that will compliment Caufield/Suzuki/Slaf well. It's early though, and we'll see if he can stay healthy, as we saw how he draws attention from the lines he plays against. Time will tell.
One worry I personally have is with Josh Anderson. I know he took a stiff crosscheck to the ribs last night, but shortly after, we saw him pop a pill on the bench (From the training staff). Now, I know only too well how pain can impact a person, and opioids aren't the answer, and I wonder how much it's been personally affecting him. If he needs to heal and take time to get pain free/get his pain managed, I'd rather see that, although his on-ice efforts will be missed. (Insert chuckles here.)
Again, great work, keep it up! |

I would not limit Pat to anything.
I think that is a disservice to the copious and vast rage of narcotics he has consumed...

Les Canadiens ont placé le nom de l'attaquant Alex Barré-Boulet au ballottage dans le but de le céder au Rocket de Laval.
The Canadiens have placed forward Alex Barré-Boulet on waivers for the purpose of a loan to the Laval Rocket.
Guess they decided to keep the 2 kids. |
