Buffalo missed the chance to add top centers this summer...Stamkos was available. Guentzel. Reinhart. Teravainen. Now it's too late. But something like Byram for Nylander could work. He can play center if needed.

Actually, what Friedman reported was that teams have asked about Cozens and Byram only to be told that what they offered didn't improve the Sabres (in the opinion of Adams). So that doesn't sound like he is shopping either of them, but I thought Cozens for Ehlers might be a deal that would work out for both teams.

There was a Deal there between Buffalo and Winnipeg before the Draft. Something fell apart. Rumor is Ehlers was willing but Adams wanted a extension in place.

Yes, I happen to know of someone within the organization who claims the Sabres had a deal for Ehlers & Iafallo in return for Krebs and Buffalo's first round pick (after Adams had already traded down with the Sharks). Ehlers wouldn't agree to an extension as part of the deal, so Adams didn't proceed. At least that is how it was told to me back around that time.
