It’s perplexing to me that a professional league just suspends play, for a few weeks, in the middle of the season to have the players switch teams and play a completely unrelated tournament. Why would teams agree to put their best players at risk in games that don’t count toward their standing?

would Tampa dare cut Cam if he doesn't make the team? might be a lot of league backlash if they do that to a respected vet.

And this will be two weeks of All-Stars actually playing for something, which will make the league/owners a lot of money. The PA is on board so I'm guessing it adds to the HRR split.

Briebois is ruthless. Look what he just did with Stamkos, Killorn, and Palat over the last few years. They were all fan favorites and he lowballed all of them out of town. Atkinson gets no guarantees.

I’m shocked he went to Tampa with Guentzel after the way they treated Stamkos…

All the kidding aside I hope Cam does well. Seems like a good dude and this is most likely his last chance.

At this point I’d be happy with a competent GM. Seems like forever since we had one of those.

Guess it will be a nice break for the Flyers. I imagine not many will be involved.

I'm recently told that Briere and Jones are instilling character, culture and locker room harmony that is equally important to talent and skill for an NHL team on the Flyers. That should lead to numerous Stanley Cups with the history of how good the Flyers are as an organization in accomplishing that.

What a brutal schedule. Geez.

Anyone hoping for a bottom of the league finish should be happy eith this schedule

According to Nasty Knuckles, Michkov is in town

The flyers have petitioned the league for a slew of new trophies to be added to the current group.

The laperriere trophy- goes to the player who best exemplifies leadership and fortitude after getting smashed in the face with a puck. Guarantees that player has a job for life with that organization.

The Triumvirate trophy- Goes to the team that best shows what a collaborative front office can achieve.

The Rocky Thompson trophy- Goes to the best assistant coach who shows an all around knowledge and excellence at his position.

The Briere trophy- Goes to the GM who is smarter than anyone else in the room and makes the ultimate hockey draft selections.

The Fletcher trophy- For the best trade that didn’t actually happen. Because trades are hard.

The Torterella trophy- For the coach that best establishes a cohesive locker room and whose team plays the right way.

The Nic D trophy- goes to the leagues best 4th liner provided they don’t score more than two goals a season. Must lose most of his fights. Must be a great locker room presence.

Well, Ill guess I will be very tired at work the day after Michkov's first game.

Perfect guy for Torts to have in the perpetual dog house. On second thought, if Torts keeps Sprong in the Cote Suite, perhaps he'll relent on Frost. Just a thought.
