FLA came out and showed their shutdown play in the game similar to period 3 of game 1. I thought Skinner played well but not enough to take the game like Bob in game 1, he was the deciding factor to have the Panthers win that game. Best of Luck for Oilers in game 3...btw...Panthers play better as a road team as they are more disciplined so they need some garbage goals vs looking for perfect scenario to pull off a W. |

I expect Draisaitl to have a bad game as he is going to be more worried about what is coming after him from the hit on Barkov. Panther will take aim at McDavid as well. No fights but will be more aggressive. |

I agree Sean, not having Nurse for game 3 is a huge plus for the Oilers. He’s been a turnover machine with little regard for the fast pace playoffs. Untimely penalties, poor decisions, he won’t be missed.
Oilers can’t get caught up in Floridas game. They seem to worry more about getting out bullied than getting out scored. Maurice schooling Knobby in the coaching, it’s not even close.
Where are the rest of the Oilers? McDavid can’t do it all by himself. He’s like a 1 man offensive threat out there, often trying to beat 4 Panthers to get to the net. How many more minutes can we expect the guy to play?
Panthers just keep chugging along, playing a style made for playoff hockey. Oilers don’t win game 3 it will probably be a sweep in the series.

He is likely to play game 3 It's the playoffs. He could be a game time decision. Or he could be out. Nothing is official until it's official. May be better for them if he doesn't play.Same for Kane. |

What do Ekblad, Draisaitl, Tkachuck, Barkov, Lundell, Ekholm, Verheaghe, Mountor, Mikkola, Holloway, Tarasenko, Kaluk, McDavid, Bouchard, Foegele, Desharnais, Forlsing, Loustarinen, Reinhart, Bennett and Rodrigues all have in common?
They all have more giveaways these playoffs than Darnell Nurse.
That's all in order top to bottom for giveaways, btw. Ekblad leads the entire playoffs in them. |

Draisaitl had his worst game of the playoffs, as did RNH. Kane was a non-factor and downright detrimental in many cases. McLeod stayed to the perimeter. Bouchard had a brutal giveaway which led to the 2-1 goal. There were really no bright spots from Edmonton all night. - freelancer
They need to take Kane off the PP altogether. He's been completely invisible the last 2 rounds.
They need to stop looking for perfect plays and just crash the net and fire away. Hell, I might even consider taking a goaltender interference penalty just to get into Bob's head. Not saying to run him and injure him, just get him thinking about it a bit.
But really, they'll go as far as McDavid can take them. He's the one x-factor that can cancel out Florida's depth advantage. |

Ekblad is +10
Darnell Nurse -15
Entire Panther roster -9
I know lots of people discredit this stat but the NHL keeps tracking it, so it must have some value. |

Way to shift the goal posts and change your narrative. You called him a turnover machine and I provided proof that he is nowhere in the same realm of turnovers as a lot of the other players in the series.
+/- is a joke of a stat in a lot of ways. Was Nurse all 5 of the players on the ice, and in net, when all of those goals against went in?
Last years Norris winner, one of only 6 D-men in the history of the game to get over 100 points in a season, was -26 |

+/- is a valuable stat, when looked at objectively. Karlsson was on a brutal team, and on the ice for almost half of every game, the minuses were inevitable.
Nurse owns the worst +/- of all playoff players, and its not even close. A couple of the next worse are D men that get put across from him. Over time, and relative to ones own team, +/- paints a pretty clear picture. |

I'll concede that it doesn't paint a good picture when its the absolute worst +/- in the whole playoffs haha

Edmonton's defense has struggled in the first two Basketball Stars 2 games, allowing too many high-danger scoring chances. Tightening up defensively and providing better support for their goaltender will be essential. Look for the Oilers to focus on blocking shots, clearing rebounds, and maintaining better positioning. |
