From last blog and the comments about showing the forearms I was shocked it took so long to pop up…..
I am fine due to rule 18.6 (which I totally did not just make up)
Rule 18.6 - one must show their forearm(s) in a pic with a fish only if that individual has challenged someone to a fist fight, AND demanded the person challenged drive a completely unreasonable distance to engage in the impost childish manner of resolving a disagreement.
Also to whomever tried to guess my height and weight - close but your too low on the height and too high on the weight (but not by a lot) the beers and brats summer diet isn’t the best bit it tastes the best) 🤣
And yes Symba - I do cover the bottom of the net pretty well. The issue is getting back up! You know like the old 80’s TV commercial “help I’ve fallen and can’t get up”. The hips and knees of a goalie take a lot of abuse, even for a beer league hack.
The pain I feel and the sound of Rice Krispies I hear when I get up from being seated or go up stairs confirms this for me.

It's a tough call to make but considering what he has shown so far, I think you try and sign him now.
6 years at 5.5-6M would be difficult for him to refuse considering he only scored 35 points, but it would lock him up for a set price instead of overpaying if he gets 65 points next year playing on the first line.
I think it gets it done.
Of course if Knies cares more about getting the most money out of this and not making sure he sticks around, then signing next year makes a ton of sense. |

If I played for a Canadian team I think I'd be waiting on the outcome of CRA v. Tavares before I sign anything |

Isn't Tavares's problem that he's actually living in Ontario unlike Matthews or Knies who work there?

Throwing extra money at guys whose names sound like body parts (read: Finger, Peca) usually works out |

I don't know because I refuse to learn anything about taxes in sports or the salary cap and I'm actively working to forget what I've accidentally learned on here (which is (frank) all).

I bumped into my old beer league goalie a few years ago - hadn't seen him in 5-6 years.
"Want to see my new hips?" he asked, as he whipped out his phone and showed me the x-rays.

Yes.
Matthews gets 99% of his salary every July 1st when he is living in Arizona.
He gets paid peanuts the rest of the year, and gives the peanut shells to the various state and provincial taxes he plays. |

Didn’t see your post in the last blog til now, yard and flower gardens work is done tho
Anyways, here’s the stats I was talking about from October 2023, not even a year old
https://www.arcticicehock...ion-based-on-time-on-ice/
50P is the average for a second liner. The cup winning 2nd line C only had 41P last season, which would have been 48-49P if he played all 82 games. |
