Yeah, I wanted to say something about that too. Saying it was a cheapshot is false and sounds very whiny by RW. |

People like RW being involved in hockey at every level is what has taken the sport backwards these last 7-8 years. |

Improves our picks though. I hope this screws Edmonton over. Kane going on IR will make it so these two can sign - 10inchTerror
They’d have to roll with a 20 man roster if that were the case, either way they’re screwed going into next year with the Draisaitl and Bouchard extensions still pending. Their cap is going to look worse than Toronto after McDavid sings his extension. |

St. Louis needing their own second to make an offer sheet? Yeah strange. - Tojo.
They took our 2025 pick in exchange for their 2026 pick. I’m assuming they don’t have next years 2nd rounder and would need that if all goes through. |

Oh I know, it will be interesting to see how they do things.
At least for Toronto this is Tavares last year at 11m. They can run things back this year, hope for the best and if not they will save a whole bunch of money without shipping anyone out. Maybe he won’t resign for 5m and he just goes elsewhere. Then they save it all. Toronto is already removing the captaincy from him so his days could be numbered. Why trade Nylander or Marner when 33 year old Tavares contract is basically done. |

That pick was originally theirs. They just gave it to us to take Hayes. We didn't have our own. So it is their original pick. Signing an RFA is just me spit balling a possiblity.
So for taking Hayes and a fifth, we got a 2nd and a 3rd |

The play was going up-ice the other way and Steckel was joining the play. Steckel didn't exactly go out of his way to avoid the contact, but it's not like he ran him from across the rink. |

Would Robertson sign for 2.4M? Could Toronto easily match it? |

They could probably match up to about 3.5m if they really had to and ran a 20 player roster. |

I just watched it again. Steckel actually tried to avoid contact to the left, if he didn’t he probably wouldn’t have been any injury just running straight into him. Either way unfortunate collision, no cheap shot. |

Man, there is absolutely no way anyone knows one way or another if he tried to clip Sid there on purpose, or not, and if he did try was that what he wanted? to concuss Crosby and take him out of the NHL for that long?...nah, probably not. This is why I will never take a hard stance on that play.
I know that you've played enough hockey that you've been stealthily clipped by an opposing player at least once hahaha....fvckers who give you a little hard shot/stern shoulder you're not expecting while you pass by them or they pass by you. Very hard for anyone else to notice kinda sh!t..but of course in this game it was a national broadcast and there were cameras everywhere. |

I get it, but to go off your point, it's not like this stuff happens out of the blue. There are hockey players who are known to play on the edge(ie; me) and there are the Dave Steckels of the world. Some hockey players just don't have that kind of innocuous borderline play in them, and Steckel is probably one of them. Dude is an giant teddy bear.
Plus, the damage was mostly done by Hedman...which was a clear boarding and a poopty hit 100% of the time. |

If you look at the play it’s the one time ever Sid wasn’t able to play a puck off his skates. Steckel leans his body out to the left which is the way Sid’s head was turning. I don’t think there was even enough time to think about taking a piece of Sidney Crosby with any malicious intent. Steckel definitely makes an attempt to not run Sid over and the result was clipping Sid’s head with his shoulder. Unfortunate, but hockey is dangerous. |

Ugh. I’d say screw it and try to max out an offer sheet for a 3rd rounder. (2.45?) |

I don't think a team like the Pens that is gathering picks is going to sign someone to an offer sheet. |

I mean never hurts to have good young talent for a push in 5ish + years. At the very least if they do well they get traded for something younger down the road. Better than standing pat and doing nothing.

I saw but I can’t find for what anywhere |

Nash was basically exactly Glass’ cap hit over the cap. I hope it’s just a straight up dump for like a 7th or something because I don’t imagine any money will be going back.
Edit - glass, 3rd, 6th for Jordan Fresca. A good trade I say. |

I don’t have much of an expectation for Glass but for a 3rd u guess that’s a worthy dart throw. Still, I’ll be shocked if Glass makes an impact and a 3rd ain’t nothing. |
