Cam Fowler has been connected to the Leafs a few times through out his career, he has said he would play in Toronto if a chance came but Anaheim has been his home for ages, I do not see him moving on. The chance to play with McDavid or Matthews is very enticing for players, that mentality is still prevalent among players. Those are my picks.

Let's see, Carolina has no cap room, so a minimum of $3.2 million would have to come back to Anaheim for that deal to work. Edmonton has less than a million in cap space which would make Cam a remote possibility. Toronto has less than $500k in space and are already trying to trade someone to sign Pacioretti, so I can't see that happening. So that leaves Detroit. They have the cap space, assuming there's money left over after Seider and Raymond get signed, and it's Cam's home, so it will be a no-brainer. I have no idea who would come back but I could see that possibly happening.
Here's my problem with this rumor. Cam is nowhere near the defenseman he was even 2 years ago. I don't know if all of the playing time has caught up with him but he was a definite liability for the Ducks the past 2 years. Fowler's play has declined so dramatically that they made rookie Jackson LaCombe play his off side because he was better at it than Cam was. I can't see any team taking on even half of Cam's salary fof what he brings to the table. Nope, Fowler will be a Duck for the next 2 years.

Carolina is not trading for Fowler when they've got Slavin/Walker/Chatfield/Gostisbehere signed longer term, Alexander Nikishin arriving late this season and Scott Morrow on the cusp.

- BINGO!

Not to mention he's a third-pairing d-man so even at 50% cap hit he's expensive.

At this point I have no idea what Verbeek is doing. We really needs some wins down here in Orange County. But so far the biggest change has been the jerseys.
Trading Fowler doesn't help the rebuild. Fowler is pretty much a middle pairing defenseman playing top line minutes. So his numbers are mediocre. But he's been a trooper. He doesn't hang his head. Always plays out the games even though the team play is brutal some nights. And he's pretty much the longest tenured player on the team.

The case for Trading Fowler, Gibson. Vitrano, ect is the Ducks are Bad. And what's worse is we here in SoCal have no idea when thos teams gonna get better. So logic says if you have lemons, then make lemonade. But this lemonade the Ducks are pushing on the fans is bitter. No Sugar. No water added. Just pure lemon juice. And I'm just sick and tired of these bitter seasons.

Win. Just win . It will fix so many problems this Ducks Organization is having right now. Low fan confidence. Low ticket revenue. Trouble attracting free agents. This team needs a savior. One who believes in winning. Weather that's a new president, Gm, or coach doesn't matter. This situation can't keep going on. I mean if you think about it. The Ducks might be the worst franchise in the NHL right now. It use to be Arizona or Buffalo. And Edmonton before them. But now it's either Anaheim or San Jose whose the worst.

And it wasn't always like this. Before Verbeek we held on to the fact that the Ducks were a winning organization. But now we are ran more like a junk yard for other teams to get spare players to build there rosters or dump big contracts.
And worse yet. Our Gm. Coach and President aren't mad. They accept losing. It's like they've given up. And it's just a bad mentality that's crept into this organization. It makes me sad to think about this. The Ducks organization doesn't care about winning. Losing is a virus. It infects everything. And eventually the Owners are just going to have to put their foot down and say no more. Just clean house and start over. This whole situation is ridiculous.

Plus, the Wings D is weak with guys like Justin Holl and Erik Gustafsson playing big roles.

I don't disagree with the Wings defense being weak but Holl didn't even play half of last season when he was healthy all year and Gustafsson hasn't played a single game with nobody predicting him playing a big role for this team.

At least with you putting the Wings as a destination it means there is 0% chance of it happening
