Kasper looked damn good, kudos to the kid. I hope he stays in Detroit.
Detroit will probably dress a Junior Grand Rapids team in Toronto, not that it matters.
And if any of you dreamers out there think tomorrow’s performance against the Leafs Big Boys will be any better, I’ve got some Canadian Palm Trees to sell you.

To the point on Kasper, he doesn’t look like he gets frustrated. He just goes right back at it. There’s a mental side of this that we’ve seen younger players be able to tune into with Seider and Raymond. Kasper seems like he’s just making the adjustments.

Not to go too far down the well, but the “regulars” have been tough to watch at times. I’m with you on the preseason issue. Also wondering more and more if Debrincat shouldn’t move to the second line and put Kane with Larkin and Raymond. Debrincat would have a lot of defensive support with Tarasenko and (presumedly) Compher. All speculation, and tomorrow could certainly be a cup of cold coffee. Thanks for the drop in, always appreciated.

For 2+, it was good,even saw an unusualy physical enagagement. Watson brings that to the game and we need it. Kasper's shown he 'this' close to being ready for being a permanent fixture. He's good. Both of his shots were impressive, he was quick to make a move, and mucked it up deep in the O-zone. Mazur looked like he's just about ready, MBN is gonna be good, Danielson is such a smart player. Eddy getting physical....dude was throwing at Eddy but hittin' air, that guy's got a huge wing-span!

I'm not impressed with how it ended. Defensive lapses, blown coverage....these are things that need to be worked on, no doubt, but to see them after seeing it last year as well?? There's something systemic causing that. If we want to be legit SCPO contenders, blowing it in the 3d can't keep happening. Losses are gonna come, but this has happened routinely for 2yrs. Gotta be fixed.

Was a good game. These kids are letting the grizzled vets know that they're ready to pounce and knock some vets outta the NHL. Very promising. I do like what I see.....

Same crap as many games last year; inability to seal the deal, allowing cavalcade of SOG, defensive lapses…. The stuff that drives Wing’s fan bat-crap crazy. It was so bad, my wife told me to turn the TV off and watch the MSO/Oregon game….which wasn’t any better, and I don’t even LIKE MSU!!!

Listen, I know it’s just the pre-season, blah blah blah…. But when you see a continuation of trends that’ve haunted this team for the past couple of years, one would logically (and justifiably) ask: Ummm….WHAT??

I mean, the kids (Mazur, Kasper, et. al.) REALLY look good, there’s definitely fruit being born in the “A”, the coaching staff down there have done a great job with an impressive pool of talent. But there needs to be a focus on what changes between GRG & DRW. Philosophies, schemes, etc should be relatively similar (adjusting for player capabilities…) to the Big Club. So that makes me wonder just how hot the seat is on the staff for the DRW.

I’m not saying dump Newsie, but there has to be some pressure (no doubt there is, but it doesn’t seem to have an impact…) to fix these repeated issues. This IS a good team. Say what you will about Tarasenko, Kane, etc… these are good players (definition of “good” is up for reader interpretation…). The whole issue I have is repeating issues from previous seasons. That has GOT to stop. Rolling over in the 3d ain’t gonna cut it, and people are getting pissed….
