Just watched an interview with KD. He mentioned that the reason they put Phillips on waivers was to give the team flexibility to send him, Kaiser, or Allan down depending on who they feel is doing the best. Also, they wanted to make sure that Allan got a shot after playing so well during the pre-season.

Hoping for a competitive game. I'm going with the goalie win 3-1 Hawks.

If only there was some easily replaceable plug of a defenseman we could jettison to make room for these younger players. One who is finally healthy, one who has never contributed to a successful Blackhawks season… oh well I can’t figure out who that would be.

Seems simple until you try to find another team that not only wants him, but can afford him too. Also, Kaiser isn't healthy yet and they don't really sound all that excited about Phillips.

Who is he blocking? KK and EDM didn't really show enough to force a decision on other guys did they?

I think at this point it's just a formality. I was hoping he would be able to come back but with another season starting without him and him not playing for 3 of the last 5 seasons, unlikely we see him in the NHL again.

No surprise at all if Hall is their best professional forward this yr. From the 1st shift this preseason he was hungry and he was moving freely. And he's playing for his next contract....... I'll predict he gets 1st Star for the Hawks tonight not counting Mrazek.

The team was off to a good start, but then there was a lapse. Kurashev way too soft on the D in the neutral zone there IMO, basically did nothing and Hall didn't cover anyone.

Btw, Donato has been basically our best forward all preseason and he is continuing that tonight so far.

Should be 4-0. That last one was a result of just not getting it out.

Yeah, that was not where you want to turn it over. Mrazek been more in 2022-23 form tonight. They need to get a little momentum here.
