There's 2 (frank)ing minutes left, they're only one goal down.
That wasn't the time to rush. The entire NZ was clogged with Caps. No Flyers were moving up with speed or in any position to attack.
Just a dumb, dumb play by JD. - Tomahawk
Like I said...
Narrative: Drysdale dumb dumb
I'm sure it will be said by you over and over many more times because reasons.

When Zamula's head turns (bench calling him to change) Jamie still has the puck on his stick.

He is still facing Drysdale, his head isnt turned

Farabee 8:58 ice time- feels like he is the next to go to the pressbox. - Trox88 I was gonna ask about him. I only saw the second half of the game, but he sure didn't seem to play much. He may be headed straight to the trade market. He just looks like an unhappy hockey player and may need a change of scenery. Me thinks that he would bring back a half decent return preferably at the center position or on defense. |

He is still facing Drysdale, his head isnt turned - xShoot4WarAmpsx The net is empty and there is no pressure on him, so why is he even passing to the guy. The only time you should pass it to a defender in that position is if you are under duress or passing it to a defender coming onto the ice as you are exiting. Bad play by Drysdale there IMO.

The clip was cut off exactly there because .3 seconds later the puck is passed with Drysdale looking right at him and Zamula turned away with the puck half way to him.
Not to mention that play started because Zamula blocked Michkov's shot to begin with.
It was low IQ all the way.

It's turned and his stick comes off the ice. Zoom in or something, sheesh.

I think Farabee and Frost will be dealt before next season. Probably include Cates- how many 4th liners do they need to extend? Poehling and Hathaway should be enough.

That's the problem, what you are saying COULD happen, but Drysdale read the play and immediately reacted. It's a lot of why didn't Drysdale think this or that...why didn't Zamula think?
That one play didn't lose the Flyers the game, but it's just another example of no cohesion between partners and linemates...That's on the coaching staff.

I'm not a Frost guy, but if they trade him they better get a center back. I thought he had a chance to be a huge factor in the game this evening and he petered out as usual. That wrap around in the third should have been a slam dunk into the open net, but he made a soft play and didn't take that extra step out front cause he was afraid to get hit. |

Because he is open. Passing is the most effective way to move the puck. Drysdale doesnt know he is going off. He has no reason to just sit there and do nothing with the puck. He doesnt have an outlet to the FWDs, he sees Z and he passes to him and at the exact second the pass leaves his stick Z turns. Moving the puck forces the defenders to reposition. Z's body language signaled he was ready for a pass.

I find it hard to believe they extend Frost after this season. Farabee just seems like there have been trade rumors since the summer.
I wonder how much longer they plan on paying Jett lunch money to go back to the OHL. It's time to make the move. Kid deserves so much credit for making it this far as an 18 yr old. He needs to start playing in all situations. Time to make Torts mad and take away his toy.

There was no one pressuring him at all. Passing to the defender there does nothing. He should have held onto the puck and sorted things out. There was no reason to rush that play and certainly no reason to pass it into a line change. |

Frost obviously has hands and ability, but he just seems to lack that competitive fire. Very soft play when he had an open net to tie the game. I don't like his game for that reason. He also made a few lazy passes that bothered me. Bare down and pass the friggin puck with authority! Zamula's another baby on this team. TK is getting pummeled by Wilson, and Zamula comes over and gives Wilson a hug. Come on dude!!! And yes, if Jett isn't gonna play send him back! Gotta be a Torts thing. |

They will get plenty of chances to work on their EN play this year. They will get it fixed before the playoffs.
I bet Buium goes his entire career without making a play like that. Somebody needs to coach these guys up because nobody's on the same page.
Let's see if Torts get's cheered when introduced on Saturday. |

Fedotov bad. Zamula bad. Michkov good. The play that led to the first empty netter cannot happen. EVER.
They battled back. That is a good sign.
At this point playing Johnson over Zamula is not the change I would like to see. Even though Zamula's play has earned him a night off. |

They said during the broadcast that Zamula's most important job isn't on the ice, it is to be Michkov's interpreter.

Not sure the folks from that broadcast know much about anything. All I am saying is I do not need to see more Johnson. That's what she said?
So unless they bring up a dude from the Phantoms just keep trucking Zamula out there. Hopefully he can overcome his issues. I think not but who knows.

I must say that I have barely noticed him at all out there so far this year. That’s a common theme. |

I hope so. Looks to me like one of our good ole 10 plus game losing streaks to begin the season. Those are always fun. They better be sending Jett down soon here. Hes not gaining anything from the press box |

You are missing the point. The puck eas already heading to Zamula before the change. Zamula is face Drys, he sends the puck towards him and then he turns.
Drysdale had no indication he was changing until after the pick left his stick - xShoot4WarAmpsx
I think it is you that has missed the point. Zamula is basically stationary near the bench. What reason is there to pass the puck to him? With the Caps checking forward, what would Zamula do with the puck if he had caught the pass? Nothing! He would've had to pass it right back to Drysdale to keep possession. The better place for the puck to be was with Drysdale in the center of the ice while the team changes. This is basic hockey
