Nylander is going to be traded in year one of his contract extension with a full NMC? Seems odd. In fact, unprecedented even.
Who is Tyler Johnston?
Penguins are not aiming for the playoffs so no chance they are getting Provorov.

As it stands the Jackets aren't in the worst of positions, small sample size , but I would hold my breath before writing rumors that Provorov is being shopped, especially to a team that is one point in front of them.

so Marner is da man to be moved since his contract is up this year and if his contract demands aren't ridiculous

So what does Erik Johnson bring to the Flyers if they think they need yet another old veteran defenseman?

Tyler Johnson MIGHT be a slight improvement, over what they have. Forget him. It won't change much. They're a complete mess. They're better off doing now, what they should've done two years ago, and that's tank the season.

*Moved on from.

Also, would be pretty easy to do a sign and trade to a team he's interested in. But I suspect he'll leave in UFA, we'll use him for the playoffs.

He does. And Toronto is a contender so they would almost definitely never trade him in the first place. But those facts are inconvenient to this narrative.

for more $$$$$. If he really loves it here, he'll take the same contract as Nylander has imo.

As an FA he can sign for whatever the market will pay him. And the team he goes to will be stronger since they don't have to part with assets to get him.

I seriously doubt he waives his NMC just to help out the Leafs.

He won't, nor will the Leafs ask him to. Hopefully, they let him walk instead of overpaying.

to go with somebody that as a chance ?

combiened if they tell him they dont want to re-sign him long term ?

They are never winning with the 3 musketers, they need to transfer is money on a great D

Well, they do have a chance - they are contenders. And there won't be many favorites that will part with the assets Leafs would want.

Whether or not they want to re-sign him is irrelevant in Marner's decision to (not) waive his NMC.

He finishes out the season with Leafs, then re-signs a deal both can live with, or goes to FA and gets a big contract.

It's win-win for Marner to finish the year as a Leaf.

t is odd but if there is any team that has a willy for an large term NMC contract, it is the Flyers
Flyers going from trying to fit in 18 yo Luchanko to 100 yo Johnson would also be so Flyers

Flyers should be focusing on rebuilding. They BADLY need to add a franchise 1C and those almost always come from early in the draft only. Not going to go anywhere without one.

Clearly, either Nylander or Marner want to be "The Man" and maybe both.
