Random question did anyone else put money đź’° down on michkov to have more then 45 points
And the other bet I put money đź’° down was michkov to win the rookie of the year

With all the turmoil, I'm still enjoying watching the beginning career of an elite player. Feels like Lindros' rookie year, you are just watching a special player amd it just the start. Michkov, wow

So let me get this right and stay with me.

Sean Couturier sees opportunity on the top line at center, has a big game and suddenly, according to you he’s back!

Rostolainen sees opportunity on the top pair, has a big game, it wasn’t good enough? Need more.

- roenick97

I'll explain this to you. Couturier had a hat trick and a 5 point game as the 1C. That is what you're looking for from a 1C.

Ristolainen deserves credit. He stepped up in the absence of York and played well defensively. He had a goal and an assist. As I said previously, I would give him 3rd star for the game.

Being a good defenseman in the NHL, being a top pair defenseman in the NHL, is not just about defending well. It's about pushing play and controlling play. Against the top lines in the NHL. Ristolainen is not and never has been capable of that.

The top defenseman in the NHL are that due to their ability to defend less and attack the other team more. The more you can tilt that to your side of the ice. The better a defenseman you are.

Oh absolutely đź’Ż

But if thought those bets were locks.

I had michkov getting 70plus points to almost a point a game player his first year.

So when I seen those odds I jump on it

Well, that wasn’t pretty from a coaches perspective, but for the fans, love to see the offence breakout. Tortorella is an idiot, I can’t wait until he’s gone.

No, you don't have to explain anything to me because your assessment is wrong. You love to sing the same tune everyday that Ristolainen is just an overpaid third pair defenseman. Not on this team he isn't. Not the way Zamula has been playing and not with what Johnson has offered when he's not in the press box. Heck, Drysdale has looked good today and had flashes Wednesday but prior to that, Risto has outplayed all 3 by a country mile. The issue is, you only give credit when you have no choice. The moment this game is wiped from your memory, the player is just bad simply because you say so. Risto isn't our best defenseman, I've never believed he was but he's most certainly has improved since becoming a Flyer. It's just been tough to make the argument when he only played 31 games last season but even prior to that, Risto has made strong steps since his first season as a Flyer. You can choose to ignore this but you would be wrong in doing so.

As for Coots, he has the crutch for being out for nearly 2 years. No question. He still needs to earn his money because he clearly hasn’t been the same player prior to his injury. I guess we’ll see how he responds tomorrow night.

There’s nothing convenient about this team and to act like he’s been placed on the forth line every night in the first 8 games is nonsense. Couturier has had opportunities and it wasn’t until this afternoon things finally worked out.

The sky is always falling when something isn’t working out for Coots. He gets scratched last season as captain and played wing on the fourth line in his 800th game. The guy wipes his tears with 100 dollar bills at night.

Play better and you get rewarded. This goes for the entire team.

- roenick97

It is very convienent. How is the 4th line a punishment when you start the game with them on the ice? If he wanted to punish him, he could have scratched him like he did last season. If he planned on using him on the 4th line he would have made him C as well. Moving a C to Lw is not a punishment. C usually get moved to wing at some point in their careers. Giroux moved to wing and it wasnt a punishment.

I didnt put money down on it but I had him as a Calder favourite with 50-60 points. I think most people have him as the Calder Favourite. Based on his play he is on pace to be even better. We will see if he hits a wall later in the season.

Not everything is about Sean Couturier. Prior to today, Couturier didn’t offer much. Not as a captain. Not as the highest paid player on the team. Today he was put on the top line and today was the first time in awhile I saw him will himself to score a goal and than will his team to a win. It’s been ages since he took over a game and showed he can be dominant.

There is nothing wrong with lighting a fire under a player.,

Fun to see Coots finally get rewarded for going to the net. That celly on the 3rd-goal was great.

Crazy crazy game.

Flyers only had 6 SOG through 2 periods but scored 3 goals on those 6 shots.
After 6 SOG through 40 minutes, they put 17 SOG in the final 20 min.
6 total goals score in the 3rd period.
Flyers haven't allowed less than 3 goals since Game 1.

Just finished watching…not acceptable the first almost 2 periods…with that said they stuck with it….thanks to some wonky goaltending at other end.
Coots was finally rewarded that’s the 3rd solid game in a row. Talk about wiling to go to the tough area’s. Konecny as well…talent to play with Michkov.
Michkov really is a guy that can change momentum…his goal really was the turning point for me even though Minny came right back.
Now goaltending…what the (frank)?
Happy they made decision on Luchanko. It’s the right one…a bit late…but with this organization….it’s a win.

Looks the rumors are true, Kosolov to start against MTL. Hopefully Andrae can start earning his NHL paycheck by actually being on the ice, not the pressbox.
