Yep, goaltending seems thin! And the number of decent Canadian tenders has never been lower. |

Kuemper (retain $2M) to Utah for a 2nd - HenryHockey
Kuemper is the weak link in Colorado. They can't win a Cup with him. They should go all in for MAF or Khudobin.
Three months later...Kuemper wins Cup. Oops.

MAF is not the answer for anyone but retirement Not trustworthy NO 1 overall pick and never lived up to potential in clutch situations Team Canada never trusted him why should anyone else Lots of wins because of the teams he played for But never was the main reason anytime he won one Oops 2009 Was never the main man look it up |

These days his clutch performances are his car pranks on Brandon Duhaime.

Ek knows goalies better than the two of you. Did either of you even play goalie? And by that I mean competitively. Didn't think so. |

No, I never was a goalie. I played wing. But everywhere you look it says I played center.

Playoff money, baby. Playoff money. Extra credit if you remember the NHL Network saying they needed Lundquist to get over the top.
In all seriousness, although Kuemper had an OK season his first year in DC I wonder if he's ever fully gotten over that eye injury. Ryan Johansen actually seems like a pretty good dude but I'd prefer if he stayed away from the Avs for now on...

After about the third time I read that it sunk-in and I started laughing uncontrollably. |

Don’t think this comment will age well. Very high chance MAF I’d a first ballot HOF’er and when it happens it won’t matter who doesn’t agree but one thing is for certain…will be hard to argue a first ballot HOFer didn’t live up to potential no matter where he went in the draft. |

Plenty of Pens fans still dislike MAF because he was probably the worst playoff goalie four years in a row from 2010-2013. Cost the team multiple playoff series.

If MAF was a UFA right now he would not only make the list of top5 UFA goalies available, but he'd probably make the list for top 10 centres. Top 5 is covered already, but if the list goes to 10, MAF could probably adapt and make that list. That's how money he is. |

Here's an article that quantifies that:
https://www.sbnation.com/...enguins-nhl-playoffs-2013
Plus he wore a ballcap during the Final in '16 and '17, was sub .900 in the '18 Final, melted down and gave up 4 goals in a 5 minute major and even after his team miraculously tied it up gave up the OT winner in Round 1 Game 7 in '19, lost the net to Lehner in '20 and '21 and lost the net to Talbot in '22.
All of which is why many of us got a chuckle out of the 'Playoff Money' statement made here a few years ago. |

He'll make the HOF because of his longevity which is impressive, but his peak is pretty overrated. Almost always at least five better goalies than him every season of his career. |

I guess you are just uninformed He did not perform under pressure well at all
With that team in front of him he should have done great things but did NOT |

Could not agree with you more He was not a clutch goalie more like a choker
Some really BAD performances that a minor league goalie would have done much better Longevity is the only thing he has going for him If he played on a bad team he would have been needing a shrink to survive |

Think of many Cups the Avs would have by now if they added Mr. Playoff Money!!
My favourite pictures are when MAF was hoisting the Cup in 2016 and 2017 wearing his ballcap beside a sweaty Matt Murray who stole his job. Smile big MAF! Back-to-back Cups! |
